So DB, which of the Twin Peaks girls do you like the best? How about you, Dominic? Is it Audrey?
In order of preference:

Shelly (absolutely one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen)
Donna (I like girl-next door types)
Audrey (she can tie a cherry stem into a knot with her tongue, so, LDO)
Norma (the kind of gal you marry)
Annie (very cute and sweet)
Laura (psycho pussy is the best )

Not into Josie. I did kinda like the Icelandic chick Jerry Horne was into. And DB...you're saving CATHERINE for me?? Maybe back when she was in The Hustler with Paul Newman, but not now, thanks.

Oh my god.

Really really displeased.

oh my god. oh my god. oh my god.

Well it's nice to know that I committed myself to watching the most disturbing and depressing series ever there guys. I just watched 29 episodes and for what? FOR WHAT I ASK YOU?

Next time give a girl a huge warning why don't ya? This is not a show for someone who mainly likes comedies and watching Friends reruns! I mean really what the hell?

(In a dark props cupboard, by the light of a single torch)
Dick: Now, what exactly did you need to find? Lana?
Lana: Did I do that?
Dick: What are you looking for?
Lana: I don't know the exact technical name for it.
Dick: Does anything here look like it?
(Light goes out to make it completely dark)
Lana: Oh I think this might be it.
Dick: OOOOOOoooooooooooooooH, By George, I think you've got it!

Episode 28: Miss Twin Peaks (2.021)

Written by Barry Pullman.
Directed by Tim Hunter.

Ah, this is sort of the calm before the storm that is the final episode...

Audrey sitting by the fire, in a red dress and barefoot, thinking about Jack.

I had to laugh at Nadine crunching Mike's arm when she finds out Norma and Big Ed want to get married.

And Lucy announced she will be deciding who the father of her child will be...

But the end...the beauty pageant, Lucy's dance, and Lana's sultry belly-dancing thing....pretty good. And Windam Earle dressed as the Log Lady should have been ridiculous, but frankly he was scary.

So Earle now has his Queen, and knows the door to the Black Lodge, and Cooper needs to figure it all out.

And I want to go look in the storage room with Lana.

SO WE COME TO THE END:

"Cooper": How's Annie? How's Annie? How's Annie?

Episode 29: Beyond Life and Death (2.022)

synopsis:
Quote:

Written by Mark Frost, Harley Peyton and Robert Engels.
Directed by David Lynch.

Cooper and Truman rush to head off Windom Earle at the Black Lodge, where Cooper must take a plunge into darkness to save the live of Miss Twin Peaks; Donna Hayward demands to know the truth; Nadine Hurley enrolls in the school of hard knocks; Andrew Packard and Pete Martell go on a mission to the bank; Audrey Horne stages an act of civil disobedience; and Ben Horne apologizes for trying to be good.

Lots more gets hung up in the air than resolved in this one. The only thing that does get resolved is sort of tragic. Nadine recovers her memory, and starts on about the drapes again, and Donna finds out, sadly, who her real father is.

This is a crazy episode, and is pretty intense for the first 30 minutes, what with the doddering old bank guy and Lara Palmer's mom talking in a weird voice.

Then the bank gets blown up with Audrey inside, and Leo is left holding by his teeth a rope that has suspended a deadly spider in a cage above him.

Then we get that last 20 minutes, and it goes completely and brilliantly insane.

Not much to say really, apart from echoing the words of the little man:

WOW, BOB, WOW!

diebitter, your standing in the corner is not going to help anything. The problem is episode 29. It wasn't just "a little tragic", it was RIDICULOUSLY DISTURBING. Does anyones life NOT get ruined?

Also, I was worried that I'd have horrible nightmares last night (even though I tried to watch Conan O'Brien before bed) and I DID. I had a terrible dream. The kind where you wake up sweating and you're just really really relieved it was a dream and you check your clock and look out the window a couple times to make sure that none of it actually happened.

The whole red room scene is just wrong. The bank scene was sad as hell. Donna is upset. Truman loses a friend. You know, just RIDICULOUSLY TRAGIC.

Why didn't Lynch do a 3rd series to fix some of these problems?

The ratings didn't justify it.

I was gonna suggest watching the prequel movie, but you'll just hate it.

Ok I watched Episode 23. You're right, it was better than the previous 3. I found it very interesting. I liked the quote you posted about Norma. So true.

I'm too depressed to discuss it right now. Basically it was pretty good and I'm sort of shocked by Josie's demise. Also I can't believe that is the same Billy Zane from Survival Island. I had to google him to see if it was the same guy. It was.

(How could anyone like Lucy's voice? )
Okay, I've been watching season two on the Chiller channel and they finally got to this episode - the one that brings the show back from the brink of almost unwatchableness (the last 3 or 4 were stinkers). I love this episode:

Norma to Hank: "I'd rather be his whore than your wife." Ohhhh, snap! What do you say to that??

The reappearence of Bob and the Dancing Dwarf.

The 3-part letter Wyndam Earle sends to the Three Beauties.

The chess game with Pete presiding.

And finally, Josie dying for no reason at all and turning into a doorknob!! WTF???

Twin Peaks is always best when at its looniest!

Sorry I was late to the party, but I had to write about this one....

This is what I like about the Lounge, late to the party is totally acceptable.

Your timing is good because I was just thinking about this show today. I was thinking Wow, WTF was with that deranged David Lynch guy anyway and why did Dominic and Diebitter recommend this show to someone like me

I still feel like sobbing every time I think back to it .
- But yeah the line by Norma is gold. I hope I never have to use it.

You will like ep. 24 and 25. They are a lot of fun before the whole thing slides into hell. The only reason I'd want to go back and watch the series now is to see Michael Ontkean's great makeout scenes with Josie. Love him

Katy, I'd really love to know what you would think of Fire:Walk With Me...and I'm not saying that beacause I get some perverse pleasure out of freaking you out. (Okay, maybe a little bit)

I just love love love that movie and for some reason it is incredibly moving to me...but yeah, it's like the series X 10....really freaky and intense. Especially any scenes between Laura and Leeland.

Okay, I got around to watching Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, the prequel detailing some of the investigation of an earlier murder, and the last 7 days of Laura Palmer. In it we see full Lynchian weirdness mixed into a more straightforward narrative, and see how Laura slowly realises who Bob actually is, and also see how Bob realises that she now knows.

It's a great movie, though this is my 3rd or 4th time of watching and I didn't dig it as much as earlier viewings, and like the TV show, it raises more questions than it answers. Some of the imagery is unforgettable. I also didn't like they couldn't get the original Donna back, a new Donna is jarring (the new Annie isn't so bad, as she's in it so briefly).

It's very much like the TV show with all the humour taken out, and the sex and graphic imagery amped up a level. One thing I likew about it is Lynch doesn't try to make it more accessible, adn for those that didn't watch the TV show, you really need to have been into the TV show to really dig it - I love he's so damn hardcore.

All I can say is, even though Laura died, that was probably the best of a truly horrible choice given to her.

I agree that there is some of the humor missing, but the movie really works for me and is easily the most affecting of Lynch's work, for me.

By the way, there is no "new" Annie. That's Heather Graham in the movie. Maybe you're thinking of the girl who plays Teresa Banks? Her name is Pamela Gidley. Also, if you check out the IMDB full cast list, you'll notice everyone from the TV show that didn't make it into the movie is still listed - only with a "scenes deleted" notation. Now I'm dying to see a long director's cut!
