Episode 21 and 22 are blurring together in my mind. I've only seen half of eps. 22 so I can't really remember where it starts and 21 stops.

I seriously did laugh (yeah right out loud) when Albert hugged Harry and the two acted like they hadn't seen each other in years. What's going on with that? Also thought it was funny when Andy and Dick start to bawl over little Nicky's life story.

And my favorite part (episode 22?) was when Nadine walks in on Ed and Norma in bed together. Lol, the look on Norma's face as she self-conciously pulls the covers up a little higher over herself to portray some modesty in a most immodest situation. Too funny. And then she unenthusiastically takes the trophy but then immediately hands it back to Ed. I think Peggy Lipton is great in that scene.
I always had a thing for Peggy Lipton, starting way back with The Mod Squad!

Episode 23: The Condemned Woman (2.016)

synopsis:
Quote:

Written by Tricia Brock.
Directed by Lesli Glatter.
Original Airdate: February 16, 1991.

Cooper pleads with Josie Packard for the truth as Truman looks on; Ben Horne has a change of heart about the future of Twin Peaks; Ed Hurley proposes marriage to Norma Jennings; James Hurley and Donna Hayward say good-bye; Audrey Horne meets her fated one - a handsome, wealthy admirer from the past; and Windom Earle presents a tantalizing puzzle to three women.

Guest starring: Jerry Horne: David Patrick Kelly, Thomas Eckhardt: David Warner, Albert Rosenfield: Miguel Ferrer, Nadine Hurley: Wendy Robie, Andrew Packard: Dan O'Herlihy, John Justice Wheeler: Billy Zane, Jones: Brenda Strong.

I LOVE THE LINE NORMA DELIVERS (above). Norma is so cool and dignified, but that line is a real metaphorical kick in the balls, if ever there was one.

Good to see Ben Horne sane and in charge again.

This is defintely better than many of the preceeding episodes, with some of the artistry present in the first 17 episodes returning - and we encounter both Bob and the dancing dwarf again.

I feel bad for poor Harry, what with Josy's shennanegins.

Oh, Katy, did you notice Billy Zane? Him of 'Survival Island'?

So DB... Josie hasn't turned into a doorknob yet? I've actually been able to catch a few of these on HDNET this week - Leland's death is quite powerful. And I love Bobby's father. Piper Laurie dressed up as the Japanese guy is great! I've forgotten so much about this how, it's fun discovering it again.

Aye, the first 17 episodes are terrific. These last 5-6 haven't been great, but the remaining ones are pretty damn good. I think Annie is in the next one!

cmon Dom, get ahold of the last 2 disks and join us. I'm trrying to get through the remaining ones this week and next week (on holiday after that).

If not, at least try and catch 'fire walk with me' soon.

Ok I watched Episode 23. You're right, it was better than the previous 3. I found it very interesting. I liked the quote you posted about Norma. So true.

I'm too depressed to discuss it right now. Basically it was pretty good and I'm sort of shocked by Josie's demise. Also I can't believe that is the same Billy Zane from Survival Island. I had to google him to see if it was the same guy. It was.

(How could anyone like Lucy's voice? )

synopsis:
Quote:

Written by Barry Pullman.
Directed by James Foley.
Original Airdate: March 28, 1991.

Cooper is attracted to a beautiful, reclusive young woman; Truman falls to pieces grieving over the death of Josie Packard; Donna Hayward receives a macabre family visitor; Audrey Horne falls in love; Nadine Hurley and Mike Nelson check into the Great Northern Hotel; and Ben Horne hosts an environmental benefit.

Wooohoooo, we're back into good Twin Peaks territory again, some good stuff in this one. Annie, Norma's sister has arrived in town, and Cooper is much taken with her. Truman is devastated, and Michael Ontkean gives a good performance of a man in deep turmoil. There's a benefit to save the pine weasel that made me laugh out loud, and there's a mysterious and striking woman undressing at the end... what more could you want?

I'm finding it hard not just watch them back-to-back right now until the end, but sometimes you just gotta pace yourself with the good stuff.

Episode 24

Haha, this was a very good episode. There is a lot going on in this one. People falling in love, a pine weasel crisis, a fashion show. I know I will leave something out!

The scene with Billy Zane and Audrey on the picnic is very sweet but awfully stylized with that music. So dramatic and poetic

Lucy watching Andy play chess:

“You can’t do that!” “Mr. Martell, Andy moved his knight without doing the little hook thing!”
“You don’t have to do the little hook thing. It’s optional.”
(Mr. Martell)
“Andy, the knight has to do the little hook thing.”
“Every time?”
“It’s a priviledge. No one else gets to make that move.”

And can we talk about poor Harry for a second? I don’t know who that actor is but he’s so down to earth and sexy I just want to comfort him very badly. I don’t think I can picture him with another girl either. He and Josie were smokin’ hot! One of my complaints about him from the very beginning was my uncertainty whether he could act. Boy was I wrong. He’s really believable and I think does a terrific job in these last 2 episodes. Love him

I’m not really sure what to think of Heather Graham being in this show. The only thing I’ve ever seen her in was Austin Powers (which she was great in). I think I associate her with light comedy so I’m withholding judgment on her here. Lol, Cooper is cute. He’s completely smitten.

Finally, I loved that fashion show! Haha, Dick does a very nice job describing the fashions and who would have thought that Lucy could be a runway model? Nice.

The actor you like who plays Harry is Michael Ontkean - check him out in the Paul Newman classic, "Slap Shot." You get to see him skate around a hockey rink in nothing but a jock strap!

He was also the star of the 70s classic TV cop show, "The Rookies." Kate Jackson played his wife.

Episode 25: On the Wings of Love (2.018)

Quote:

Written by Harley Peyton and Robert Engels.
Directed by Duwayne Dunham.
Original Airdate: April 4, 1991.

Agent Cooper and the Sheriff's Department go midnight spelunking; Truman awakens in the murderous embrace of a naked woman; Audrey Horne and Donna Hayward witness a strange meeting; Windom Earle insinuates himself in the lives of his potential victims; and love is in the air.

So some peace settles back in Twin Peaks after the Weasel Riot of episode 24

Well, not really. This opens with Harry nearly buying the farm - very close thing. But it should cure him of his Josy blues, I guess.

And we have yet another romance brewing when Gordon Cole gets an eyeful of Shelley Johnson (and who can blame him). She somehow can talk normally and the deaf Cole can hear her. Magic. So that makes Gordon + Shelley, Cooper and Annie (maybe?), and Audrey and Billy Zane. And what the hell is going on between Ben Horne and Donna's mom?!?

It must be springtime.

Oh, and for more sensitive viewers, there's some spelunking in this episode. So be warned.

Overall, good episode, we're back in firm Twin Peaks plotline, with Windham Earle now the main plot.

I thought this was a great episode. I actually laughed in a lot of parts.

First that great opening with Harry and the mystery woman gently caressing his face and lips with her fingertips. Then an intense moment where he struggles with the wire around his neck. Nice filming there.

I loved the scene in the diner with Cooper and Annie. This was one of my favorite parts of the whole series. (And later, at the bar when he asks Annie if she wants to talk about it. Wow. Cooper is like the perfect guy. )

And Gordon and his loud talking just crack me up. I love how Shelly responds to him. The light in that girl's eyes is amazing. She just lights up everything.

I will try to write more on this episode later. Basically, I loved it.

Episode 26: Variations on Relations (2.019)

Synopsis:

Quote:

Written by Mark Frost and Harley Peyton.
Directed by Jonathan Sanger.
Original Airdate: April 11, 1991.

Cooper and Truman try to unlock the secret of the hieroglyph found in Owl Cave; the local Miss Twin Peaks contest draws some hot competition; Annie Blackburne opens her heart; the Great Northern Hotel holds a wine tasting event; and Windom Earle makes another move in his deadly game of chess.

So Windham Earle has uncovered the strange petroglyph for all to see, so the spelunking wasn't in vain.

Another entertaining episode, moving along zestily. Annie and Cooper's first kiss....awwwww...but witnessed by Windham Earle. That punk guy sort of made me laugh, especially where he was complaining about Earle zapping the geek and spilling the beer, but his sudden demise was a little freaky.

The wine-tasting was a hoot though. That's the sort of Twin Peaks aside I like.

I'm getting sad there's only 3 episodes left.

A LITTLE freaky? With the exception of Maddy's horrifying attack, I think the punk guy's demise was about the grossest thing in the series. That was just AWFUL diebitter.

Agree with you about the wine tasting. Very funny and I love this kind of stuff. (That Dick guy is hilarious. When the weasel bit his nose in episode 25 I was laughing my head off.) "There are some school's of thought who of course say there are no other wines but reds."

I want to know who wins Miss Twin Peaks! Don't tell me it's Nadine. Please.

Also, I want to know what's in the puzzle box! Remember when Stuey was into making puzzle boxes? I think they're cool.

Finally, Cooper and Annie are really cute together. For all you guys who wonder what girls want, study Cooper. He has so much heart. He looks directly at the girl when he talks and he is really kind and open. No pretense. He's like the sweetest guy. (Do I say this in every post? )

Episode 27: The Path to the Black Lodge (2.020)

Quote:

Written by Harley Peyton and Robert Engels.
Directed by Stephen Gyllenhaal.
Original Airdate: April 19, 1991.

Cooper and Truman continue to investigate the mystery of Owl Cave; Windom Earle snares another captive and learns some valuable information; romance blooms between Cooper and Annie Blackburne; Donna Hayward finds an old scrapbook full of surprises; and Audrey Horne makes a confession.

Wowwowwow. Very intense.

I just found out the dead punk at the beginning is Ted Raimi, the brother of Sam Raimi, director of the Evil Dead Series and the Spiderman series. Katy, did you notice the punk's friend is the little gay guy from Sex and the City?

This is one of the weirder ones, with strange things happening.

First Windham Earle torturing the major to find out information, brrrr, and then Leo sort of going nuts and zapping himself...WTF?

It's sort of sweet that Leo remembers Shelley and doesn't want her hurt though. And Windham Earle deciding to make the winner of Miss Twin Peaks the 'Queen' of the game is an interesting twist on the beauty pageant.

I was also confused. Is Donna the daughter of Ben Horne? I got distracted as she was looking through stuff.

And what's with Pete's hand? And what's with the hand of the lady eating in the diner? Weird stuff.

And then... Cooper is with Annie and refers to her as a 'queen', and the giant appears to Cooper basically saying 'NO! GET THE HELL OUT OF THIS!'

Not much lightness here, but I look forward to Lucy deciding which guy is suitable to be daddy to her baby. I hoep she picks Andy.

And that ending... that scene in Windham Earle's cabin with Leo and Major Briggs....brrrrrrrrrrr.

But worst of all, Bob seems to be made flesh again. It can't end good, can it?

Diebitter, this thing had better end on a good note or I don't think I'll speak to you again for a month! Last night I was thinking to myself oh [censored], don't tell me I committed to watching this entire series only for it to end on a depressing note. Please do not tell me that.

I am super bummed that John (Jack?) has left the show. Just when I was all excited for Audrey. What a downer. And even though we have the Cooper/Annie thing to enjoy it's not the same. Heather Graham is not as good an actress as the Audrey girl and seems rather mechanical in how she recites her lines.

I don't like the torture scenes with Wyndom Earle. Really scary and not my cup of tea .
(Although Leo zapping himself was kinda funny.)

I'm pretty sure Donna has not found out yet if she's Ben Horne's daughter. The certificate she was looking at had a blank space by the father's name.

p.s. You are moving kinda fast through these last few episodes DB. I think I deserve an attagirl! for trying to keep up with you .
