That's the character, same at the end of S2. I was heartbroken that time, but this time I saw it as a clear MacGuffin. He'll figure things out again one way or another, whether we get to see it or not (and then probably get into another jam).

A big part of the "meaning" of the whole season to me is this:

Who killed Laura Palmer? was the original MacGuffin. Then, idk, some Windom Earle stuff and whatever else. Then, "will Cooper escape the Lodge?" (for 27 years), transitioning a bit to "will Coop become himself again and what about BOB?" The next MacGuffin is "what's going on with this alternate timeline thing?"

And basically, none of those matter all that much. Their purpose is to give us a world of characters and strange things to live in for a little while.

On second watch, episode 18 definitely worked way better for me. I think partly because I accepted all the doors they opened through season 3 were just never going to be closed, and partly because I knew this wasn't really season 3 story any more (except the first 5 minutes involving doppelgangers etc), so accepted it on its own terms.

I considered going (I'm in SF), regretted not going a bit last year.

Mostly just interested in the films though and I've now seen just about all of the Lynch ones I need to see on the big screen, including Lost Highway and Rabbits. I'll be really curious what shorts they play. If I hadn't seen Rabbits in the theater this year I would have gone to LA for this without even knowing whether they'll show it.

Do both the $489 and $999 ticket levels get you into the Lynch reception?

If he did one less music and more film focused (not just his films) I'd strongly consider going.

Report if you have time at some point please!

What were the "rare short films"? How were the films projected? Were the screenings treated with reverence or casually?

Did Lynch or anyone else say anything insightful about TP or his other work?

Is someone really understand what is going on in this last season?

Cooper is destined to try and save Laura through every dimension, but slowly realise he is causing her more suffering by doing so, is how I read it.

Rewatched it. Still as great as ever. For an extra twist, I watched it with my daughter, who is 17 - same age as Laura Palmer. She dug it too.

Sad news about Piper Laurie passing, she is wonderful in the role of Catherine Martell.

I am rewatching Twin Peaks for the 8th or 9th time. Just watched the incredible episode from season 2 where we, the audience, see who the killer actually is for the first time.

This show never gets old.

Michael Malice has a pretty good podcast episode with Agent Cooper that just came out. They have some good Twin Peak talk!
