This is a good remake of the original Danish show and whilst it lacks in atmosphere it certainly maintains the high level of drama portrayed in the original.
It's been a long time since I watched the Danish show, which I saw on a weekly basis as it was aired, so it felt fresh and new and the many twists were still good, jaw-dropping moments. It's a solid remake, well worth taking the time to watch if you are into crime dramas.

I'm 2 episodes into season 3, I hope it lives up to the standards of 1 + 2.
S1 was one of my all-time favorites, very good for anyone who likes mysteries. Two lead actors are fantastic. Got bored with S2 and didn't bother with S3; let us know how it turns out.

S3 + 4 were no where near as good as 1 + 2. They felt drawn out and padded and could easily have been condensed into 1 season.
The storyline was ok but lacked the twists and reveals that made S1 + 2 so good.
Yes, the 2 main actors were fantastic, and their characters were compelling in all 4 seasons, both were let down by the writing in the second half imo.
Glad I watched it through though, I kind of liked the final scene, it felt right for the characters.

For anyone who hasn't watched it, S1 + 2 are well worth the time 3 + 4 not so much.

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4047038/

Adapted from the Douglas Adams novel series, this is a manic, bizarre and off the wall supernatural comedy that's just fantastic.
Only 4 eps in so far and loving every minute.

Just finished Detectorists on Netflix. Quirky British comedy that I think would appeal to most of the Lounge crowd. I loved it.

You might also like the British series Broadchurch, I am halfway through S1 and it has some similarities to The Killing.

Thanks CT, I might check it out but I'm not a fan of British drama. I find it stale and dull for the most part. Occasionally something good will pop up but it's mostly pretty weak. Scandi drama is where it's at imo.

What trans judge?? The judge wasn't trans.

I was wondering why she always seemed to be working in a public place, though.

Yeah, I liked Creep too. I think those Duplass brothers usually have something interesting going on in all their projects.

‘Transparent’ star charting new path with ‘Goliath’ role

https://nypost.com/2018/06/15/transp...-goliath-role/

"The judge isn’t written as transgender, correct?
Is the judge transgender on paper? No. But is the judge transgender? Yes, of course, because I am. I’m only speaking for myself as an actor. If they delved into the character and, say, this judge had a child, then in my actor brain the child would be adopted."

The Twilight Zone is just hands-down the best sci-fi show ever. Imaginative, well-acted, brilliantly directed, writing is top-notch. So many episodes are masterpieces of the genre that just stick with you.

Check out Luther and Peaky Blinders. They are anything but dull. More like action than drama.

Also Sherlock and Marcella are good imo

Peaky Blinders is a solid show, really enjoyed all 3 seasons. I watched Luther and it was ok but nothing special.

Sherlock is just awful, can't get through a single episode of it. It's predictable, dull and has no atmosphere. Really stale show.

I haven't tried Marcella yet, I think it's on Netflix so will give it a go. I'm running out of things to watch on Netflix so fingers crossed.

Sneaky Pete s2 not nearly as good imho. Too much pointlessness and repetition actually stopped like 2.5 eps from the end.

I'm not sure how anyone would find Sherlock anything less than terrific. A fabulous cast and nicely done update of the stories.

It's over the top violent and incredibly silly so far, a solo art heist right after he gets installed as Sheriff? He turns down his share of the loot after going there specifically for it?

I'm hoping it gets better, halfway through season 1.
