The other guy is from **** Rapids, MN and I'm in San Francisco, so I think it's DeepDiscount.com trying to get each of us out of our bubbles. Him with my liberal bougie artsy fartsy Twin Peaks Blu-Rays, me with his working class Roseanne DVDs.

Edit: Profanity filter filtering out the poor guy's hometown name. Everything about this situation is perfect. C00n Rapids.

In 2005 it was programmes where you'd start off with about 12 contestants, and one would get eliminated each week, e.g. The Apprentice.

In 2017 it's programmes about people who lead watchable lives, but those lives also get scripted and fictionalized, e.g. Hardcore Pawn and Storage Wars.

Rewatching Band of Brothets for the umpteenth time. I think this ten-part series is the highest achievement in television history.

couldn't agree more, its my #1 show of all time. I've seen it multiple times and it never gets old, really bums me out I never got to one of the Normandy anniversaries when I was younger so I could have met some of these guys.

What a cast of characters, both the actors and the men they portrayed.

Band of Brothers is incredible. Definitely worth re-watching periodically.

Currently about 7 eps into The Americans on Amazon Prime. Really liking it so far. The guy who plays the FBI agent is really good.

Fantastic show, ridiculously ahead of its time. I'm not sure if it's not still ahead of 2017.

Didn't realise there were only 17 episodes. Might have to give it a watch sometime.

I've been to Portmeirion, where it's filmed, and it's a really nice place.

Prisoner is better the second time around now that I'm a bit older and more hip to the allegorical nature of what the show was all about.

Considering an episodic review/analysis of The Prisoner like we have for Star Trek and Twin Peaks. Not sure if there's an audience for it.

IT Crowd gets full marks.

Watching Andromeda. Everything I liked about Star Trek with 70% less commie.

Sadly, it gets more commie as it drags on, and becomes more about the cult of Captain Dylan Hunt. The characters were different in the first season, but as it goes on, all the characters aspire to be Captain Dylan Hunt, and it becomes bland in the end. Tyr Anasasi, (and Becca Valentine) was a different character. The concept of the AI-driven space ship was cool. The idea of a 300 year dark age is beyond the pale unbelievable, and the depiction of Nietzsche idolism is like pure projection of cultish non-sense on the part of the writers who try to put together a white knight. The first season is the only thing worth watching.

cliffs: I'll watch the rest of it secretly rooting for the bad guys as I always seem to do.

5 hour doc on HBO called The Defiant Ones about Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre. I'm 38 minutes into the first hour and it's riveting.

Only one hour tonight...the next hours play over the next four nights.
