I am watching "The Mentalist". I am on Season 4

I don't really recommend it. It's a very inconsistent show with some quite silly writing at times, like it's not really going anywhere with most episodes feeling like "filler" and the plot doesn't develop much at all. Nor do the characters.
It's still entertaining and easy to watch, doesn't require full attention like some of the best shows do so you can do something else while watching. Some episodes are pretty cool

I'd rate it about 6.5/10 overall

Only on the Graham Norton Show would the host ask Rod Stewart about the famous rumor about him getting his stomach pumped. Too damn funny.

I just watched the Top Gear guys play car rugby at the home of English, and indeed world, Rugby - Twickenham. They absolutely destroyed the pitch...looool.

Good show. I enjoyed it more than Newsroom.

But I've enjoyed Boss more than either of these two shows.

I'm about halfway through House of Card and think it's terrific. Boss was good but was also lacking but the performances were superb. Newsroom? I think I would rather have a root canal than watch that crap again.

wow, on the most recent Doctor Who (the second one with Clara), there were clear references to the following:

Hellraiser
Flash Gordon
Blade Runner
Dark City
He-Man/Masters of the Universe
And a general Lovecraft vibe

very enjoyable.

I didn't finish Newsroom. What bothered me the most was the writing. It felt so self indulging. Many shows get a little high horsed with their quick, catch phrase type lingo at times, but it seems like that was all that Newsroom was about.

I'm not finished with Boss S1 yet, but so far the only thing inferior to House of Cards that I've found has been the sexual scenes. I think they're really a weak point on Boss, almost as if someone wrote a story and said "we need more sex/sex angles." Whereas in House of Cards it ties in better with the story, even adds to it. It's mildly distracting in Boss.

Haven't finished yet and the final few eps of a show are huge, so I may have been premature to declare Boss > HoC, and of course it is all just my own opinion (curious to hear others as well).

I think Boss would have been great if they didn't have the illness angle/plotline. It was intriguing enough without that which made it seem gimicky. I also didn't care for any of he daughters plotlines. But I think Grammer probably gave the greatest TV performance ever. He was terrific in that role.

Is everyone on deadliest catch an addicted or recovering addict?

And how about all those captains being in tons of debt/ taking huge financial risks all for the sake of fishing?

How much of the show is dramatized?

I loved Enlightenment but I heard it's not coming back. Some of the most original tv I can remember, in a non-flashy way. I went through the 2 seasons in a week.

Mystery Detectives is good. It used to be called Forensic Files. The announcer's voice is kinda eerie, so it fits. It used to be on TruTV..now headline news channel?

Anyone else see The Top of the Lake? It's a NZ/Aussie mini-series by Jane Campion, starring Elisabeth Moss, David Wenham, and Peter Mullan.

It's just about the most unique police procedural I've ever seen.

You can watch it on Netflix.

I thought Top of the Lake was great. Very unique, yes. And tied to that remote New Zealand culture.

I've been urging everybody in POG to watch it.

Hannibal right now is pretty good.

New Dexter comes out pretty soon also, and looking foward to see what Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is all about.
