You are my opposite! I didn't like Expanse at all so you should love it! I despised Mr. Robot, Black Mirror, haven't seen Legion and found Westworld only okay at best.

In terms of TV I haven't been watching (along with everyone else), I found this quite amusing:

Contestants leave bleak wilderness after a year to find their reality show not on the air

tldr: Channel 4 did a reality TV show that has just 'finished', where a group went off to a year ago to live in a remote part of Scotland. It appears to have been axed 8 months ago, after only 4 episodes.

I'm loving the Zoo on Animal planet. Behind the scenes reality show about the Bronx Zoo. Way better than you think it's going to be. Really well done.

I like all of the Marvel universe shows that are on Netflix and went through the new Iron Fist series. I found the first half of the season interesting but they sort of lost me in the second half. I finished it, but it was pretty meh and predicable. It lakes a good villain as well.

Thx man, looks interesting, will check them out

This exact same review would work for Luke cage as well imo.

+1. Both those shows were pushing the boundaries of mediocracy.

Dave Chappelle's new specials are pretty good, but holy hell what would he talk about if he wasn't black.

I've never gotten into any form of reality TV but Terrace House on Netflix is great. It's basically Real World in Japan: 6 Japanese living together in Tokyo. It doesn't hurt that the three girls on the show are absolutely gorgeous.

It's a fun combination of seeing Tokyo (which never gets old to me), interesting people, and differences in culture. Some of the situations are just so outlandish due to not having a deep understanding of the culture.

Also the format of the show has grown on me. Reactions cams (no idea what they are actually called) are huge in Japan. Basically the show will run and TV personalities will have a small square in the corner where they just react to what is happening. I found it obnoxious when I was in Japan. This show's take on that is to just have a group of people who watch the show then discuss it at various intervals. At first I didn't like it but they're insightful to what Japanese think and they are all very funny and interact well together. I still can't understand one of the choices for this group, but even he manages to hold his own despite being very out of place.

Definitely enjoying it and would recommend, especially if you are interested in Japan.

The Strain http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2654620/

The head of a CDC team tries to stop the spread of a vampiric virus sweeping through New York.
Co-written and produced by Guillermo del Toro and you can see his influence throughout so it's watchable but could have done with a bigger budget imo.

Preacher http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5016504/

A preacher who has been given a special power teams up with his hot-headed girlfriend and an Irish vampire and go in search of god.
Thouroughly enjoyed this over-the-top comedy/horror adaption of the graphic novel. Quirky characters, gory violence and some genuinly funny moments.

Watched a couple of the new Amazon prime pilots that they are looking for feedback on to see if they pick them up or not.

Budding Prospects About some 80's stoner types being financed to move up into the country outside of San Francisco to grow pot. Interesting cast and very well done. I hope this one gets picked up and I would definitely watch.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Set in the 50's about a housewife who's husband hates his job and wants to become a standup comedian. But he sucks and eventually leaves her. Of course she becomes the comedian. I liked the 50's vibe and it is very well done. It was only okay though for me. I like it enough to where if they pick it up I'll watch but I liked Budding Prospects more.

The Legend of Master Legend A guy who is a fake super hero. I didn't really like it and was kinda bored. It's only strong point was being set in Vegas but I wouldn't watch the next episode.

I hear it's terrific. I am now working through the old Samurai Jack to get up to date before I watch the new one.

The old show is fantastic.

Am on episode 4 of Wayward Pines, thx for the suggestion Am enjoying it, it is suspenseful, but nonetheless has Shyamalan written all over it You know, that tendency of his to invest all of his efforts into the surprise twists of the plot development, while not giving a f*** about the rest

Anyhow, while I am also not a big fan of Mat Dillon (nor the uncreative music score, for that matter), this remains an intriguing/engaging tv show

Hey no problem, glad you're digging it so far! It's actually a book trilogy so not completely Shymalan's idea but def has his touch on it. It keeps getting better as the season goes on imo. And yeah I feel you on the Matt Dillon aspect , I actually think he does a great job in this role tho. Terrence Howard is incredible. Enjoy the rest of the season!

The Night Shift http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2477230/
Cheesy medical drama. Ex military medic showboats his way through the night shift in a hospitals ER. Usual mix of dramatic long-winded medical terminology, tedious personal issues and run-of-the-mill emergencies.
Nothing new here.

There, I said it.
I def agree with this statement when it was originally posted, not so much anymore which sucks because I'm a huge fan of the comics. My vote is for Bates Motel as the best drama currently.

Holy crap, Brockmire is awesome...that was one of the best half-hour premiers of a show I've ever seen....you know how hard it is to set everything up in the first episode of a new show in less than 30 minutes, and still make it funny and surprising?

Damn good show. Hank Azaria and Amanda Peet are perfect.

"I may not be the best **** in every room, but I am definitely the best **** in this room."

I'm stealing that.
