Comparing the same scene in both episodes where Pablo is trying to get contraband items through the inspection point: In Narcos, Pablo recites all the guard's names, their wives and children, a sick grandmother getting out of the hospital, as a threat to show he means business. How did he get all of this information, and why is he so confident on one of his first obstacles of this sort? How long did he spend studying cue cards with a picture of their face to their name and other facts about each and every of them?

In the more authentic show, Pablo simply makes a direct threat and offers a bribe. Much more realistic and afterwards they're shown celebrating that it worked which is a nice touch. It made Pablo seem more human. The American version simply displays Pablo as a sociopathic killer and doesn't get into his actual character at all. Then you have the DEA good-guy agent who just wants what's best for his family and society, but he's willing to get his hands dirty to get the job done. Puke.

I love how Shut up and dance had us feeling bad for the main kid the entire time only to be hit hard by the final scene. San Junipero was amazing for sure, I love how it had a happy ending in a show not known for them.

I felt pretty bad about the kid at the end too. The punishment seemed out of proportion even if what he did was disgusting/sick. Just thinking about that episode again gives me goose bumps

Brilliant writing imo. Such subtle hints in the beginning, him giving the toy back to the girl at the diner and not even really looking/paying attention to the mom, showing zero interest when his boss was flirting with him. I was thinking who gives a crap if people see him jerking off? Little did I know.
