I'm liking this a lot too, on ep4 now.

I think I'll watch it. The trailers of Sneaky Pete make it look like a fun show. I'm currently watching Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. I'm 5 episodes in and I'm really enjoying it. It does seem like a bit of a rip off of Babylon 5, but the characters are fun enough to go along for the ride.

Fun multi-episode documentary called the Eighties on Netflix. First ep is all about how TV changed during that decade (Hill Street Blues, Cosby show, Miami Vice, birth of ESPN/MTV, Oprah, Morton Downey Jr., etc.) Nothing earth-shatteringly original, but a fun walk down memory lane. Looking forward to watching the rest.

I watched that too and enjoyed it a lot. Very nostalgic. I also watched to 60's and the 70's a while back which are also great. I thought the 60's one was the best, especially the episode about music.

Don't forget Dana Delaney, who I've always loved. I watched the first couple, can't even remember why I quit on it.

Perlman

Comparing him to a monkey/ape is a little mean. He's a fine accomplished actor and deserves a little respect.

how he looks has nothing to do with his acting skills.
like I said in my OP he's killing it, but can't deny he looks alot like a monkey.

Baboon IMO. Used to great effect in The Name of the Rose.

True enough, he is a very good actor. But his look is what gets him many of his roles because he "looks" the part. Like The Beast, or Hellboy, or the leader of a motorcycle gang. He plays those parts well.

He was great in Quest for Fire back in the day! Yes, his unusual looks have been an asset at times, I'd say.

PURE
Canadian show about drug running among Mennonites.
3 episodes in.
Witness meets Justified? Except Canadian. Maybe?
I don't know if it's good, corny, or guilty pleasure.

I always loved DS9. Especially later seasons where they did season long story arcs which was pretty difficult at the time without things like Netflix so people could catch up on a missed episode.

Any aussies on here want to recommend a newish drama/comedy of theirs? Seems like all we get from you now is awful reality tv shows and soap operas. Enjoyed the underbelly series, Rake and the we can be heroes/summer heights high series, but haven't seen much I've wanted to watch since then.

One drawback about DS9 is that it seems like it copied a bunch of ideas from Babylon 5.

Watched Riverdale the other night. I only read a few Archie comics growing up, but thinking this wasn't that was a sticking point. My big issue was the main characters were supposed to be sophmores in high school and the actors were way too old for the parts.

I'm not an aussie and it's maybe not exactly what you were looking for but here's some aus TV I've enjoyed lately;

Jack Irish with Guy Pearce, a recent six part series and some older TV-movies. Also Broken Shore based on book by same author

Secret City. Recent political thriller that was OK

Russel Coight's All Aussie Adventures. I loved these, very silly humour

I'm also interseted in more aus TV recommendations, old or new in any genre
