I saw this was by Netflix so I was kind of expecting some modern narration (like on house of cards) regarding the topics that were going to be addressed in Narcos. So I was obv disappointed.
On the American narration side we get a cliche 80s "muricas the best, drugs are bad, we kill Pablo we end the war on the drugs" viewpoints which was tilting and a waste imo irt character development / story telling.
I wouldn't have minded at all if the character developed throughout the season but he doesn't. He's just as one sided and cliche at the finale as he was at the pilot albeit a little more violent and negative.
It would have been awesome if he went from being totally green at ep 1 to being fluent in Spanish (definitely doable considering years have passed) and beginning to understand the problems from around ep 7 on.
I thought it was still entertaining and I mean we could still see this transformation considering this is only season 1 of the series. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Spoiler:
One other thing that really bugged me was at the finale when his wife says she wants to go home and he says 'this is home'.
Not believable at all. He doesn't speak any Spanish. He doesn't have any friends. The entire vibe I got from the season was 1. He doesn't want to integrate into society at all and 2. Nobody wants him to be in Colombia.
It would have been much more believable / cool if there was some sort of character transformation throughout the season and if he'd back to his wife in Spanish 'this is home'
