Re: Top 3 or 5 of all time TV series

No order:

Lost
Sopranos
Twin Peaks
Arrested Development
Gilmore Girls

There are quite a few presumably good series that I haven't watched yet so that limits my list somewhat.

Lost - easily my favorite show of all time, only show that I can't just tivo have to watch right when it comes on and sit through the absurd amount of commercials.

2. Seinfeld
3. The Wire
4. South Park - really long running show and pretty much always funny.
5. Sopranos

I was just about to point out the same. The episode where he returns home after the encounter ,and actually considers taking a mundane earthbound job is definitely character development. We need a TNG thread

Still want someone to explain the lost love to me. I can get why it's popular, but top 5 shows of all time? I now have four episodes left in Season 5, and don't get it. This is just a nitpick, but I honestly can't think of another "serious" show that comes close to Lost in the I-can-predict-EXACTLY-what-they-are-going-to-say-next category.

Lost love is intricately tied with vestigial Gilligan's Island love.
