Belgian Trippel in a bottle as of today, will have to report in a week or two. Entering in Indiana St Fair and in Nationals.
Next brew---another wheat of some kind.

Re: TLDR Beer Club
Anyone here try Three Floyds Gumballhead?
I've got a pound of Amirillo hops and access to good red wheat malt so thinking of brewing a clone, but I've never tried it and can't get it in the Northeast as far as I can tell.

Re: TLDR Beer Club
I found this one to be pretty strong. Had a bit of an alcohol burn. ( I assume the bourbon )
But, liked it very much and would buy again. It was a slow sipping brew for me.

Re: TLDR Beer Club
I've found Allagash to consistently make some great beers every time I've tried something new, I'll have to look out for it.

Re: TLDR Beer Club
xpost:
pick 3 or 4 beers for a 200 person wedding. I am thinking
Sam Light (crowd pleaser, lowest common denominater and also a Light beer option)
Brooklyn Lager (in case someone asks for Bud/lager type beer)
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (hoppier choice)
I need to blend cost considerations with picking crowd pleasers while also picking stuff that beer fans will appreciate and enjoy
thoughts?

Re: TLDR Beer Club
Brooklyn Lager is pretty hoppy, imo. I'd pick either it or SNPA, and then a darker option. The people going for Bud will probably be more OK with Sam Light than Brooklyn. Where are you located again? I guess if you can get Brooklyn, I'd look into getting their Brown instead of their Lager. That would get you a much more rounded selection for about the same price.

Re: TLDR Beer Club
hmm yes good points. wedding is near Albany, NY. most beers should be in play, but I'm not looking for anything super fancy due to cost, etc.

Re: TLDR Beer Club
Yeah, I'd look to replace either the SNPA or the Brooklyn Lager with the Brooklyn Brown, or perhaps something darker still, whichever of the first two you personally like less. Plenty of people hate darker beer, sure, but plenty of other people go for darker beer exclusively.

Re: TLDR Beer Club
Boulevard pulled out of TN not too long ago, as well. TN has the highest beer taxes in the nation, so its usually the first to get cut when operations are scaling back.

Alternatively, you could go Miller light to please that crowd, Sam Adams, and something darker (I'm not familiar with Brooklyn Breweries beer), but I think something darker should probably be in play.
