Cute dog, he looks a lot like a dog my dog use to play with. They use to run after eachother in my fenced in back yard, and jaida could never catch the other dog. She is 50 pounds he was about 25-30 pounds and just way to quick. I though jaida was pretty fast before i saw that dog run haha

One of my parents' cats died Monday. He'd had cancer more than 2 years and had chemotherapy, although I don't think it worked. He was a tough sonofabitch, because he lived more than a year after the chemo. He had slowed down, but he was still getting it done. I only spent a week with him, but he was a good cat. Maybe 17 years old.

Our hamster just died, and the kids want another one (not sure why tbh, she only really came out after they'd gone to bed).

We adopted a cat not long ago though. We didn't think we'd be able to keep her because of the hamster (we only originally took the cat in temporarily while trying to find her owner), but they got on really well. Toffee (the hamster) once got out of her cage and when we came down in the morning, Poppy (the cat) told us where she was. I think she'd been looking after her all night, bless her.

Anyway the point is, I'm not sure if Poppy would let us bring a new hamster into "her" house. Has anyone who has cats aswell as hamsters/mice/whatever had an issue with a cat not liking a new one?

Aw Toffee was so cute! That's one of the cutest pictures I've seen. I'm sorry she passed away. I think you should get the kids another hamster. You guys pick cool names for your pets. I like both of them a lot

Kioshk -

Sorry to hear about your parent's cat. I've never heard of anyone giving their cat chemotherapy. That's very cool. 17 years is really old! Hope your mom and dad are doing okay. I hate to think of them being lonely.

Thanks, Katy. I think they are doing ok. They still have a surviving cat, and they knew this was coming for a while now.

Glad to hear they are doing ok and that they still have another cat. Now when are you going to get yourself a cat?

I think about it sometimes. It would definitely be good for me. It's been about 20 months since mine died. No immediate plans though.

This is my dog Murray taken last Summer when they had a 'take your dog to the ballpark' thing at Citi Field in NY. We got to walk around the field and he even got on the Jumbotron.

Murray's 3yrs old and is big for a Cavalier King Charles. Going to central park and hunting squirrels is his favorite thing in the world. We try and go every day in the spring/summer/fall

Small update:

I still have Chloe, here's an updated picture on my her new bed:

Since I moved back to Ohio, my roommate decided to become a superhero dog rehabilitator.

Here's the ones that we've had and have given to better homes:

Cooper:
Boxer that had "happy tail" and was in so much pain because of his broken tail that he tried to gnaw it off. There was blood everywhere from him wagging his tail and hitting walls and stuff. He had surgery to remove the tail to a nub (second picture).

Zayne:
Not really sure, but we think he was a pit bull and border collie mix? Roommate found him running around outside of our apartment and decided to take him in.

They've since both gone onto better homes, but I kinda like the idea of fostering dogs if we had a bigger place. Anyone else do this?

I have two cats. I am crazy about them. They are littermates, named Juniper and Olive. This is Olive, or Lolly, as I tend to call her (Olive > Olly > Lolly)

Lolly is without a doubt the most vocal cat in the world. She is happy and well looked after. But if she's been busy, she talks about it. If she's happy, she talks about it. If she's sad, she talks about it. If she's hungry, sleepy, wants attention, wants to be left alone, wants to go outside, wants to come inside, wants to look out the window, get on the table, see what I'm doing, when I come into the room, she talks about it.

There's no rhyme or reason to the chatter, she just likes to meow. Sometimes it's obvious what she's saying, such as being hungry or "put me down". But when she has everything she wants, she still meows and meows. She's only quiet when either she or I are asleep. Which is a good thing; she's savvy and nice enough to know not to mew at me while I'm sleeping. But she does jump on the bed and start mewing as soon as my alarm goes off.

Sometimes we even have conversations; she meows, I answer, she meows, and so on and so on. I think she just likes the sound of her own voice.

Her sister is generally very quiet and only mews when I'm about to put her food down.

I've never known a cat be quite so vocal - has anybody ever had a cat quite as noisy as this?

Yes, my cat is a super vocal Maine C-o-o-n (lol profanity filter) - accordingly, her name is Diva.

Thing is, she doesn't really have a traditional meow. She has a wide range of noises, but a simple meow isn't a normal one. I have heard her bark, chirp, and yelp - mostly she has a range of chirps.

I'm a huge dog lover but I have a question for other dog lovers. A girl at my work refers to her self as Mommie when talking about her dog. Like imitating the dog saying "Mommie, I need something" and the like.

This drives me absolutely insane with rage. I know that's an overstatement but I can't express how much it annoys me.

Am I wrong?
