First impression of NJ/Penn drivers: I have never heard so much honking. Don't they know there are vatos who will shoot them for that?

Nut, it's not unusual. Everybody's pissed because spring still hasn't arrived.

Off-putting.
I may have to start flashing gang signs to set fools straight.

Earth Day my ass, lol at this fake holiday being pushed.

Viva los vatos!

vatos live in vats?

Big game for the 5-time NBA champion San Antonio Spurs tonight. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers. I know all the vatos will.

I broke. I finally quit my job. I couldn't take it and just stopped showing up.

Long story short, I was washing dishes and bussing tables. The pay for both is pretty bad.

The dish area had a ton of leaks, less-than-ample draining for the 50 gallons of water spraying everywhere, and I got sick of being wet all the time. I started getting severe rashes on my body, especially my feet, legs, and "other areas." Said rashes started turning into sores and were bleeding. This past a week, a massive leak sprung, shooting water all over the area that I work in. I was not going to work for 1 hour whilst being sprayed like that, much less 6 hours.

I told the management about this issue. I began asking about fixing the leaks back in November. I brought this up with the GM and he said, "well, you don't clean up good enough at night."

Yeah... he is the one who is telling the assistant manager that "she's too expensive and get the **** out ASAP at night." I got so sick of the politics and told them time and time again that I have no desire to be a part of their bull****.

In any case, I was half-tempted to start making phone calls to OSHA, the health department (there's obviously fraud because there's no way this **** passes legit inspection), worker's orgs for bounced checks, etc. I decided it's better to bow out and than go on a crusade.

It bothers me because there is no way management has zero clue that I know what's up and down, and they have to know that me keeping my mouth shut is worth something. The fact they'd take me for granted and kick me in the teeth is mind-blowing and shows their absolute stupidity. I've legit never worked with anyone who only knows blaming and gas-lighting. These are truly disturbed people.

life is too short to do jobs that are not proper for you. pick more carefully as there are many better ways to make money than that. and of course as you did quit. and never take s++t from anyone . it is too easy to move on.
work in your profession at things you enjoy.

So much easier said than done, unfortunately. I've been really putting a lot of effort in building up my own little business this year. I think it was part the time involved it that, plus getting sick all the time that really pushed me over the edge.

Been more-or-less out of work since 2015 and it's been an uphill battle explaining that gap, along with explaining why I'm working a job that is "beneath my ability." idk, don't want to be homeless? Now I'm in a strange spot where restaurants don't want to take me on due to my background, and normal jobs are like "yeah, wtf, you've been out of work for a while."

Even jobs "in my profession" have been a purely miserable experience. I've heard rumors about good jobs, but honestly, not sure how much I care any to find out anymore. I've got some plans, so I'll be okay for now, just a massive crazy and painful learning experience. I don't have all the answers, only the answers that I guess are good enough for me to understand.

Stumbled across this when surfing the yootoobes, thought it was worth sharing.

Geez Dave. You still might think about sending an anonymous tip to OSHA.

Loungeville seems a little dead to me lately. Hope everything is going well for all you good folks. Spurs are up 2-1 on Houston for the right to take on the Golden State evil empire. Katy, I remember you're an Ohio type. I hope you're not a Cavs fan!

Hi kioshk,

I'm just trying to get through each day. Still kicking against the pricks.

The Lounge kind of always has wobbly traffic. Just a handful of regs that come and go, really.

I've been recovering since I quit that job. It's quite shocking to see how downright exhausted I was between the job, building out the site, promoting the site, recording, playing on stage, etc.. I've been spending most of my free time sleeping over the past 2 weeks.

I finally started recording again yesterday. I have a bit of work this week, and I'm going to be doing more "full time" work towards the end of the week, so this rest isn't going to be lasting much longer.

I really did need a vacation. First one in about 2 1/2 years.

Yeah, I've been posting here in the Lounge about 9 years now so I have a pretty good idea how things are, thanks!

Having coffee and staring out the window of a nice restaurant with an absolutely fabulous view of the ocean, mountains, beach with warm sunshine and slight breeze. I need not worry about spring runoff. Just winter flooding.

Just checked my finances and future outlook, etc. - and I'm accruing massive amounts of cash, gold, guns, drugs, negotiable bond certificates, in addition to business deals, boats full of refuges to be used for slave labor, mafia connections, and some possible smuggling ventures to round out the bigger ticket items. The future is so bright I have to wear shades. Just returned from two weeks in the Florida keys buttoning up some of my more clandestine operations.

And if you believe all that, I have this bridge...............

watching my bald eagle nest out the window and waiting for the little ones to hatch and at about the same time the branches get too green to see them.

zeno, put your refinished boat in at the 12th street or 12th ave. cant remember which it is, boat launch in your town. the lake there has bass, perch, trout and even chinook salmon to catch.

if you forget to put the plug in post pics please.

if you really want a tough workout there is a lake called laired lake somewhere up the elk that used to have big trout holdovers in it if you can get in to it. but cant remember anything about it worth knowing.

I'm at work. It's Sunday. I have a window that overlooks the fieldhouse. Have spent the last couple hours working on a response to a union grievance, and now ready to dig into writing up a justification for hiring new faculty members to replace those who have retired.

I want to go into business with Zeno instead.
