So there is stuff happening in Montana. If only we knew posters who lived there.

Edit:
And it's raining again. My system is in shock.

There is always some sort of stuff happening somewhere in the state. Anything in particular you care to hear about?
05-25-2017 , 02:15 PM
You are currently under attack by mutant Canadians. Haven't you heard?
05-25-2017 , 02:31 PM
I mean, I understand not liking Gianafort now, but have you seen Quist. He's like a singing cowboy, or something
05-25-2017 , 06:03 PM
neither has the credentials for the office. however the billionaire lost his race for governor and i think is using this office for a stepping stone for a higher position. just like zinke did leaving this office vacant requiring a special election for it.
he certainly isnt about montana at all. and quist who is native here has good intentions. and will at least represent the state and not other interests.
montana is overly republican except for the governor. so any extra checks on the one party system has to be good.

giaconfrote founded a a dinosour museum in glendive montana. below is just some of what is the purpose of this museum.
this is the person who attacked the reporter. and ran for gov. and is running and in the lead for the sole house seat in montana.

quote:
among the foundational ideas of the Glendive museum:

•The Bible is an accurate, literal history of the world. The world is about 6,000-6,400 years old and a six-day divine creation.

•The flood of the Bible’s book of Genesis, the Noah’s Ark flood, split the continents apart with water called from the deep and set off a worldwide cataclysm that buried the creatures that would become fossils in one mass event. The long flood, ensuing volcanic eruptions and an ice age radically changed the planet.

•Dinosaurs and humans lived at the same time. Dinosaurs were on the ark.

•Life can not be traced back as branches to a trunk. God created “kinds,” like dog kind from whence sprung dogs, wolves, coyotes. Humans and primates don’t come from the same “kind.” Neanderthals, Cro-Magnon and humans are all of “humankind,” which came from Adam and Eve.

Well, this is an interesting story. Actually, I have a few, but I feel like telling this one...

I've been using Virgin Mobile since forever. Last year, I made a mishap and bought a new phone from Walmart. It was cheap, but for whatever reason, I was booted off my old plan and put onto this other plan that totally sucked. I got used to it, life moves on, etc.

They dropped my old plan and I had to convert to a regular plan. I was originally told that I had to buy a new phone to switch over, but then they told me I could keep my normal phone. I'm planning to buy a new phone.

I had to call them from another phone to deactivate and reactivate my phone. I went through the steps on my phone and it doesn't ever get to the home screen. It just says "connecting to service" or something like that. Effectively, I have a brick.

The funny part is that my indicator bar is still showing up. There's a voice message and texts that I can't access (not good because I'm trying to get the next contract to work).

When I was on the phone with them, they told me that I could get a discount code, but my problem needed to be escalated and they would call me back in 10 minutes. That phone call never came, so I called them back and sat on hold for 1 hour.

I figured, screw it, I'll just buy a phone, and yep... their entire site is down. I have to feel sorry for the people who have to deal with a flood of a few 100k people trying to switch over their plan, but damn, no phone now?

i have verizon. but i can switch all i want to whatever phone i want to, that works on their lines right on the computer. it take all of 5 minutes from their website.

just go into the company's office in town and have them do it all for you. never try to get it resolved on the phone.

Dave, I've always liked you, but man, I do not understand your life.
For example, your phone service does not need to be that complicated. At all.

ALL Canadians are Mutants. Haven't you heard? They are almost as bad as the Irish. Or the Welsh.

Only use pay phones. It cuts way down on your use. Also, most people are not worth talking with anyway. So not having a phone is a large life bonus. Though most think otherwise.

It's about as good as it can be. Even the air smells sweet. I attribute that to: No Canadians.

If you learn only one thing from the time you spend on 2+2, learn this.
05-27-2017 , 02:04 AM
the time you spend on 2+2 will be pale in comparison to the time you spend trying to find a pay phone.

J. Paul Getty had a pay phone.

"If you can count your money, you don't have a billion dollars."

Google Fi has worked for me. Rain or shine.

Why would I do anything simple in my life? I've tried simplicity, and it's failed every time.

I get unlimited calls, text, and 5g of internet (which I don't use) for $35 / month. I'm not inconvenienced enough by looking for phones once every year to get the same for $150 / month. The reception and internet speed is as good, if not better, than any other provider (esp T-Mobile and AT&T).

Remember when the iPhone first came out? Typical conversation:

them: "[white noise] it's like [crackle crackle crackle] and stuff [alsdkfjsdlkfj]"

me: "Let me guess, you bought an iPhone?"

them: "oh! [crackle cracklecrackle] know?" (translation: "how did you know?")

me: "..."

I've owned cell phones for 20 years now (!). The magic of owning one was gone before smart-phones ever existed. I would love to be like Zeno and not own one at all, but I pretend to have friends and jobs that want to contact me, and it's worth my monthly bill to prop up my mirage of self-worth.

Hello.
05-28-2017 , 09:44 AM
You should say "Beam me up, Scotty." Cause there's no sign of intelligent life here etc.

My wit doesn't even extend that far.
