-Let her cook a few minutes/until cheese is melted,

I have done this with countless combinations of toppings, always turns out great.

But thin crust doesn't equal NY style. I love thin crust but hate those big floppy foldover wedges. From wikipedia:
"New York-style pizza originated in New York City in the early 1900s. It is known for its large, wide, thin and foldable shape. New York style pizza is a common style often confused with the original New Haven style, wide styled pizza. The traditional toppings were tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese, with any additional toppings placed with the cheese. It is traditionally hand-tossed and light on sauce. The slices are often eaten as a 'street snack' while folded in half, as its size and flexibility sometimes makes it unwieldy to eat flat."

Re: Poll: Chicago vs. New York-style Pizza
It's easy to determine, when you think pizza in your head, right now do you imagine a big deep dish monster or a round/square pie cut into (sacrilege) party squares or the 8/12 triangles.
Yea exactly...

That's pretty horrible logic to determine what pizza tastes better.

If you don't count Chicago pizza as pizza no logic is needed honestly , I'm totally with Dom on this.
It has nothing to do with it not being good or delicious but calling it pizza..thats like calling a hot pocket a calzone

Re: Poll: Chicago vs. New York-style Pizza
I've eaten a fair amount of each, but NY style by a landslide. Chicago style is interesting and good if made well, but still it's like eating a sloppy loaf of bread slathered in tomato sauce.
With NY style most of the flavor comes from the cheese.
