Here are some of my favorite poker movies with my rating of each:

Rounders 10 (duh)
Aces 6 (without the hot chicks it would be a 2)
Deal 5
Lucky You 6
The Grand 7
Tilt (the TV series) 9
High Roller the Stu Ungar story 8
All In (with Dominique Swain) 5 (without Swain 1)
All In: The Poker Movie 7
The Cincinnati Kid 8
BetRaiseFold 7
No Limit (the "documentary") 6
Final Table Poker (more of an instructional video than movie) 8

Any other poker movies I missed?

A Big Hand for the Little Lady (5 - it was just okay)
Maverick with Mel Gibson (6)
Shade (1 - hated this one it was horrible)
Lucky Girl (Elisha Cuthbert - a stretch to call it a poker movie it's more of a movie about gambling addiction) - 5

I've never seen Freeze Out or California Split because I can't find them anywhere - anyone know where they can be downloaded or watched?

You mean BetRaiseFold? If so, it's more about Black Friday than the UB scandal. I liked it. I had to pay the $15 to be able to download it in HD and I think it's worth that to an online poker aficionado. It shows players who were making a living before Black Friday and how BF changed their lives, pros give their reactions to when they heard the news, the UIGEA is discussed, and there's a *little* about the UB scandal but not that much.

That one looks very interesting. Netflix and Hulu don't have it. Any suggestions on where to watch it?

Didn't count that one because poker is such a small part of it. I guess it's fine though.

No he's talking about UltimateBeat which is about the UB stuff. Not a terrible movie but I didn't think it was that great.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid has a killer opening scene involving poker that everyone forgets.

There once was a television series about a family of poker players. 124 episodes were made of the family Maverick.

Kaleidoscope, 1966, Warren Beatty and Susannah York.......poker is only at the end of the film and is used to wrap up the plot. Not a great film, but I think about it every time they change the brand or type of cards used at WSOP.

Thanks for the suggestions all. Keep them coming.

I would highly recommend the series tilt to anyone who hasn't seen it yet. It's on Netflix. It's like the movie casino spread out across 16 episodes with lots of poker thrown in

Aces, also available on Netflix, is a terrible movie but if you like hot chicks and poker it's easy enough to enjoy.

Tilt put me on tilt- it's awful. But I love Brian Koppelman and he has a great podcast called The Moment.

I don't see why not as long as poker is kept the #1 priority. A few of mine in the OP were admittedly more gambling than poker.

Lucky town starring James Caan was a survivable gambling movie

Caan was also in the gambler back in 1974. I do not know if the recent John Goodman movie is a remake of it.

The cooler with William Macy is one of those movies that's so bad it's good - it would work perfectly as a satire flick but they actually tru to make it serious which in turn makes it even funnier

You obviously have zero understanding of, or appreciation for, that film. It was a ****ing great flick.

I'm more than willing to discuss it - that's what message boards are for! I just found the whole idea that one guy could walk into a room and suddenly everyone near him would be unlucky to be comical. And the premise that if someone made him happy (i.e. he fell in love) he'd lose that "superpower". I enjoyed the movie greatly because it made me laugh. If there was some hidden meaning I missed I'm willing to be enlightened.

5 Card Stud is not a poker movie. There's like a 2 minute poker scene at the beginning and then not another hand is dealt. Decent cheesy western with a lot of star power though.
