Everybody gushed about Skyfall being great, but the massive plot holes just kill it for me.

1) After Bond gets shot off the train, Moneypenny still has plenty of time to shoot the bad guy yet inexplicably just watches him go.

2) Bad guy's plan to get caught is based on a long chain of events that have to go just perfectly, some of which he could not know would happen.

3) Bad guy's plan to get captured serves no purpose, as it makes it harder not easier to pull off the rest of his plan.

3) Bad guy's escape plan is based on a long chain of perfectly timed events, including dropping a train into the tunnel just in time to keep from getting shot. If Bond just shoots him instead of stopping to chat, plan doesn't work.

4) Plan to escape could have been foiled by one guard with a handgun sitting next to the cage. Bad guy would have no way on knowing they wouldn't assign a guard, and not assigning a guard was a terrible lapse in judgement.

5) Supposedly brilliant Q plugs a super hacker's laptop directly into MI6's network for no apparent reason other than it was necessary for the bad guy's plan to work.

6) Bond's plan didn't require the actual presence of M. He could have simply dropped her off at a B&B on the way to Skyfall so she was out of danger. He also could have picked up a couple old service buddies and some automatic weapons.

7) Having successfully extracted M from danger, Albert Finney (an experienced hunter) starts waving around a flashlight for no apparent reason other than to attract the bad guy's attention.

Character's should always be making what they consider to be intelligent choices. They may turn out badly, but people rarely make a decision they know in advance is a terrible idea. Skyfall has supposedly quite intelligent people doing seriously stupid **** over and over again simply because that's what the plot needed to keep going.

I hear ya, but it IS a Bond movie, so you need a massive amount of suspension of disbelief to enjoy it, and therefore all your points are things that you should just ignore. If this was a Bourne movie, I'll grant you that the characters should be logical, but it's not. it's Bond….James Bond.

The Village: How would they never see a plane flying overhead?

Spoiler:
Oh never mind, forgot about this throwaway line that makes the entire premise of the movie believable:

MAN: "A few years ago, it got out in the papers that some government guys had been paid off to keep plane routes from flying over this place."

so this might not be a "great movie" or a "plot hole" but in divergent when they are doing the choosing ceremony they cut their hand with a knife, and everyone uses the same knife without any consideration of germs!!!!

I normally dislike it when the good guy/bad guy's plan is hopelessly overcomplicated. There are a few exceptions, like it's okay when Moriarti's plan to trap Sherlock Holmes is ludicrously complex because that's two superhuman intelligences trying to outdo one another.

I always use the end of Speed as this example. Subway throttle gets damaged and no longer works, so Keanu can't use it to slow the train down. However when he decides to jump the tracks, he just pushes the throttle forward to speed up the train.

Also lol at Keanu mistaking Sandra Bullock for Dennis Hopper from 10 feet away.

Th Part in Pulp fiction where marsellus wallace's wife od's on Zincent Vega's Herion. they come in the house all happy drunk like there ready to carry on partying she takes out this bag cuts out a like and blasts it.

Surely she thought it was coke if she wanted to carry on with the party and nott mong out and nod off for the next few hours, and any idiot can tell the difference bettween coke and Heroin. So why would a coke addict sniff Heroin by mistake it just seems impossible to me

maybe im being a nit but it seems a bit silly

She clearly was supposed to think it was cocaine, since she was shown doing a line of coke at Jack Rabbit Slim's.

does it even matter what her thoughts are... I mean other than she wanted to partake in illegal substances. no one really wants to purposely overdose, surely she was under the impression it was cocaine.

I know maybe im being a nit but to a drug user thinking a bag of Heroin is a bag of Coke is like thinking a glass of milk is a glass of orange juice. So it does mater because she wouldn't sniff it

Ocean's Twelve: Why do they have to put on "a very elaborate show," planning a way to steal the egg from the museum, getting caught by the police so Matt Damon's mom has to break them out of prison, WHEN THEY'D ALREADY STOLEN THE EGG DAYS AGO. As soon as they had the egg and the Night Fox had escrowed the money, why didn't they just say, "OK, Night Fox, we won—we have the egg. GG"?

any time a space ship flies in direct relation to it's length and orientation with the nose leading first.... I hate that shyte.

and in a related story, anytime you see multiple ships flying thru space in some formation where the base of the ship is anchored to the bottom of the film framing.

In The Rock, when Connery rolls through the flames to open the door and let them in, he had the timing of the flames memorized from when he escaped. Well when he escaped why didn't he just use the door??
