I briefly talked about this earlier but the reason I tend to avoid penalizing time travel stories with regards to continuity and plot holes is because even the most fastidious time travel stories has to avoid some very basic physics concepts.

One obvious concept is that a time machine must also be a spaceship with a supremely advanced guidance system.

This is because the earth is constantly moving relative to the sun, the sun is moving relative to the galaxy, the galaxy is moving relative to the universe in ever increasing velocities. Thus, if you only travel back in time and not space, you'll end up on some far away portion of the universe.

are you implying the delorian didn't have top of the line GPS?

It is not just gps, but rather teleportation as well. Hence any time travel plot that involves hinderances by ways of spacial travel is inherently problematic.

This isn't really a plot hole, but how in heck did Darth Vader & the Emperor manage to keep a moon-sized weapons platform a secret from their own government? That must have taken some really creative bookkeeping.

You don't actually think they spend $20,000 on a hammer, $30,000 on a toilet seat, do you?

The same way that the First Order built and kept the new death star a secret in TFA. Even though the First Order is much smaller than the empire, has way less money, power and influence than the empire did and is essentially the new rebels, compared to the new republic.

Why take his gf? She wasn't part of the plan to save the kid.

Also Marty jnr looking IDENTICAL to his Dad, is crazy.

There's heaps of holes.

Still doesn't stop it from being the GOAT trilogy.
According to the directors commentary they simply hadn't came up with the plot yet for BTTF2 when Doc took Marty and his GF with him to the future at the end of part 1. That's why they knocked her unconscious like 2 minutes into part 2. She wasn't needed at all.

Also the parents should for sure remember Marty after all they named Marty after Marty.

Huh? Wasn't his name in the past "Calvin Klein"? I mentioned that in an earlier post.

He was Calvin Klein to his mom and Marty to his Dad. Near the end of the movie his mom refers to him as Marty and says "Marty, what a nice name".

The entire premise of BTTF is faulty if you find a flaw with how his parents dont remember Marty.

One could just as easily find a issue with the original timeline of BTTF. What happened in the past to cause George and Lorraine to get married but be in an unhappy marriage and George to be unsuccessful ? If Marty failing to get his parents together in the past could potentially cause the removal of him and his 2 siblings tthen what scenario causes his parents to get married but both be losers?

You must not remember. Lorraine falls in love with Marty when her dad hit him with the car. He got hit because George fell out of a tree and Marty pushed him out of the way. George was the one who originally got hit, and Lorraine fell for him. And because George never gained any self confidence (a la knocking out Biff) he remained a loser all his life. Did you even watch the movie lol.

Yeah, but the First Order didn't have to keep its Death Star a secret from its own leadership. The original Death Star was being built as an off-the-books project that the Senate didn't know anything about. It's like the US building a ginormous aircraft carrier and keeping it a total secret from Congress.

If we found out that the US was indeed building an aircraft carrier without Congress knowing anything about it, would any of us be surprised?

I'm sure there are tons of expensive and big weapons that the military, CIA, NSA or whomever is developing right now that are off the books and no one knows about.

In the Blade Runner universe, why do they create these people that are used as slaves and never think of putting any kind of identification, control or tracking mechanisms on them? It could be a tattoo, an implanted device, maybe a big bell around their neck? The only band-aid solution that they come up with is an emotional lie detector test that needs to be administered by a special police officer.

I think I ruined the whole franchise....
