Seriously I haven't been able to stop listening to this guy. I know he's been around for a while, but I just recently discovered him. So incredibly talented.

Today, I am listening to All Things Paz Lenchantin:

I mean, it would be pretty much impossible for one human being to be any cooler than Paz. From A Perfect Circle to Zwan to (now) The Entrance Band, she is a bassist, a pianist, a violinist, and a very lovely lady.

But most notably, she freaking rocks (be patient, song starts a minute in), and she is sexy as hell (how can she have sex with the bass and play it at the same time?).

I watched her some on youtube today and looked her up a little, and my impression of her looks is now much improved. I don't think those 2 stills did her justice.

The new PJ Harvey album, Let England Shake, is simply astonishing. I've listened to it tonight three straight times without break. It's a meditation on England, patriotism, and war as a shaper of culture and country. I'll try and do a proper review in a few days, but right now I'm just too blown away...she is by far my favorite musical artist, and I expected to like this album, but wow. Sorry, I'm speechless.

As one review mentioned, "Coppola owns the war movie, Steinbeck the war novel...now, Harvey owns the war album." I mean, there are three songs about Gallipoli on this.

With both Radiohead and PJ Harvey releasing their 8th studio albums this week, at the same time both Lady Gaga and Britney Spears are also releasing new music, I can't help but think that America is to England what a Big Mac is to an aged filet mignon.

At least, when it comes to music.

I agree. It's funny. I was trying to use what I thought were the most accessible pics.

Anyway, I think it's one thing to be an attractive woman who plays bass. I think it's entirely something else to be an attractive woman who actually freaking rocks. The stuff with The Entrance Band is slithery dope rock that most guys couldn't conceive of, much less play.

Throw in violin and piano, and...super cool.

And of course, her performance on this is amazing:

Judith

I saw Mumford and Sons on the Grammys playing with Bob Dylan and really liked them. I looked up a couple of their songs and now like them even more (how can you not like songs with a banjo?)

Little Lion Man

The Cave

White Blank Page

Is this downloadable as a "choose-your-own-price" album like In Rainbows was?

No, it's not. In fact, the deluxe package would require a second mortgage on your home.
