For anyone of those who like cow punk/noise rock/bluesy pure awesomeness, you need to check out Cows.

Cows - Daddy has a Tail.

It's my personal favorite.

Been listening to Joe Satriani's The Extremist.

It's amazing what he can do with a guitar, so much emotion in his playing.

One of my favorite tracks:

I'm listening to Lyle Lovett's Pontiac album, because I heard the title cut on last.fm and liked it so much. The lyrics are smart, but I like harder-edged country than this. It seems a little affected. And tame.

Wiz Khalifa, J. Cole, Kid Cudi, Big Sean - 'Rookie' mixtape
Available here: http://www.datpiff.com/DJUnHeardSong...d.m157192.html

Pretty good so far! Wiz's 'Kush & Orange Juice' mixtape is solid as well imo

That said, I am in love with the new Dinosaur Jr. album 'Plans' right now.

Also listening to Desaparacidos (one of Conor Oberst's bands) quite a lot at the moment.
Fuccccck yeahhhh!! I had bought a USED copy of Desaparecidos' album Read Music/Speak Spanish way back before I had even gotten into Bright Eyes. I had read a good review and was surprised to find a used copy of it that I had to snag it up. While Bright Eyes music can put you to sleep or make you wanna weep, Desapericdos music makes you want to yell "**** you!" to the system. It is essentially a concept album about middle class America and how urban sprawl and consumerism have ****ed up our country. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdLxVBTEHgI. This song is a great example of what the album is about. "All those golden fields, lovely empty space
They're building drug stores now until none remains
I've been driving now for 100 blocks
Saw 50 Kum and Go's, 60 parking lots."

The amazing thing about Joe is that he is 10 times better live.
He holds back on his album versions but live he really unleashes his virtuosity.
Probably my favorite all around guitarist.

Eh, I didn't really enjoy this song until the end. That's what the Cows are about. The brute, noisy, hardcore awesomeness. The lyrics were kind of comical, but meh..

For all you Jazz fans:

Thelonious Alone in San Francisco

Probably my favorite Thelonious Monk album. Hard to pick a song to share with you guys, but I'll go with Blue Monk.

I'd also highly recommend checking out/re-listening to Miles Davis' A Tribute to Jack Johnson. This is probably my favorite Miles album, and it takes what he started in Bitches Brew to a whole new level. Great stuff.

American Football - s/t

My senior year in hs we had to put together a scrapbook documenting our time at the school. The teacher who was over it wanted us to include a quote from a book or song or whatever that we thought best represented our hs experience. I went with the opening line from the awesome song Honestly?, which is "Honestly I can't remember all my teenage feelings". Looking back, I guess that was a pretty depressing choice.

Haven't heard this one in years. I think that pop music should be about love and teenage angst and stuff and not politics but this one is understated the correct amount imo:

The Beat - Stand Down Margaret
