The Gaslight Anthem.

Kind of like a cross between Springsteen and the Killers, works well imo.

Music has started to wind me up a little bit because I feel that there's so much out there that's relatively easily accessible (spotify!) that I'll never really have time to listen to everything I want to and while my chances of discovering new music that I like have probably increased, the time spent listening to new music to find out if I like it limits the time I can spend listening to music that I like.

That said, I am in love with the new Dinosaur Jr. album 'Plans' right now.

Also listening to Desaparacidos (one of Conor Oberst's bands) quite a lot at the moment.

This is a blast from the past. I remember She Hangs Brightly from about 20 years ago, give or take a few years. It was pretty trippy.

Two of my favorite bands from my younger days. Someday I hope to have amnesia so I can experience the joy of listening to them for the first time again.

We've actually taken to covering "Blue Flower" at a few of our shows.

Mazzy Star, suck great ambience with that band.

I've been listening to someone named "Freedy Johnston", because I heard his song Bad Reputation in Noel Baumbach's excellent movie Kicking and Screaming.

I'm listening to Abba now because I like Abba. I like their harmonies and their catchy tunes. Abba isn't kitsch or camp to me. I've always liked Abba.

Just because you wrote that, I'm listening to Honey Honey from Mama Mia, right now

I never used to listen to Abba until Diebitter turned me onto Mama Mia. I now have a few Abba songs that I listen to in my car. I find it's one of the best tricks to help me stay positive when I'm slipping into a very negative mood, which is happening more and more since starting my nursing classes. Funny thing is that whenever I listen to Abba I picture Diebitter driving down the road singing along. Now I will picture Kioshk and diebitter singing along!

For your enjoyment Honey Honey

Sorry it's such poor quality. It's old! Now i see why Diebitter likes this group so much. He loves the curvaceous women. And LOL at that dude's haircut OMG that's terrible.

I think I heard one of their tracks ages ago and then I found it again recently and got Read Music, Speak Spanish. Is that all they released? It would make me sad if it was.

Also listening to some Frightened Rabbit right now, very good.

Listened to the Allman Brothers Band earlier tonight, Eat A Peach. It has a truly epic 34 min live track on it.

Muse' new album

Exogenesis is probably the best thing I have ever heard them do.

Hello, The Lounge! I couldn't resist the new banner ad promising 'fewer omg's per page.'

--------------------------------

Lately, on the drive to Casino Arizona, I've been trying to make myself deaf by way of the Gipsy Kings.

Bamboleo

They do a great Hotel California but this is only audio

However, at the table, I find that Antony and the Johnsons take the edge off nicely.

The groove isn't quite as tight on this live version, but this is still one of my favorite grooves of the 70's:

Steely Dan: Do it Again

These are some seriously straight lyrics for everyone who has ever been a step beyond himself. And if you haven't, I hope you get there one day.

You can't get much more groovy 70s action than Stevie Wonder on Sesame Street imo.

oh awesome, Blarg. Thank you for linking that. One of my favorite old songs. And that Steely Dan performance, just fantastic. I love that guitar player! He's cool. He looks a little like the first guy I I fell for in h.s. Lol! I'm definitely going to listen to this song again tonight when I'm relaxing on my deck. This is a good groove to be in

Here's one for you. Check this one out.

Doobie Brothers

I love the look!
