Brand New - Sowing Season

Do you miss the blend
Of colours she left in your black and white field
Do you feel condemned just being there?

I am listening to the great Lynyrd Skynyrd.

"I like to drink and dance all night. Come to a fix, not afraid to fight. You got that right."

Toad the wet Sprocket - Coil. Still my favourite band and the solo albums that Glen Phillips has put out are excellent as well.

Now I'm listening to the Zombies. They're pounding on my front door, and they sound hungry.

But seriously, It's the Time of the Season. Tell Her No.

She's Not There.

They were ahead of their time.

I saw them live last month. Let's Go Crazy is much better live than the version on Monuments and Melodies. I love it when Mike adds to the guitar solos when he is playing them live.

That's too bad. But the good news is now that they are touring again, it means the hiatus is over. Wikipedia has quoted Brandon on saying they are writing and hope they might be able to put something out next year.

Aimee Mann - "31 Today" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVqBJ8DdsGA

I just like the way this song sounds. Normally I never listen to slow songs with female leads like this one being mainly a hip-hop, pop, upbeat song guy. But this caught my ear.

Now I am listening to the late great Warren Zevon.

"Hurry home early. Hurry on home. Boom Boom Mancini's fighting Bobby Chacon."

"The name of the game is: get hit and hit back."

Andrew Gold, Lonely Boy

The sound on this one is extraordinary. It's even richer than the studio recording, but it's live, which I don't normally find to be the case at all.

Possible sighting of Don Henley on the drums and Gilbert O'Sullivan (Alone Again) on the second (!) piano.

Lonely Boy is a great song, brings back the 1970's.

Reminds me of Elvin Bishop's Fooled Around and Fell in Love, another great single from the 70's.

You can't really listen to one song very long, Blarg. I like Andrew Gold's Lonely Boy, as well as his hit Thank You For Being a Friend, but those songs don't last very long. Do you admire Andrew Gold's body of work??

Surely the intent behind this thread is a set of songs, and not just 1 song.

You guys are on your way to listing the entire soundtrack to "Boogie Nights". I approve wholeheartedly, "Sister Christian" notwithstanding.

That IS a great album. Sister Christian & God only knows & The living thing are the best songs from it. IMO

I don't know any of his other songs, but his band was so good in that clip that I started cruising Amazon for his albums. I think I'll listen to one on Rhapsody today.
