Re: Movies you HATE (even irrationally)

There is basically no reason to see Avatar at this point. But seeing it in 3D Imax in a packed theater was the best moviegoing experience I had in years.

I'd say it's not an outstanding film but it was an outstanding event. It is a good film though imo.

It is a film that inspires my disinterest, but it did make excellent use of 3D.

Ghost

Demi Moore's crocodile tears and that saccharine sweet storyline makes me wanna gouge my eyes out with a spoon.

Not sure how one can be mirin on shawshank redemption.

Anywho, I absolutely hated lord of the rings and avatar...just not my type of movie I guess.

Everyone also seems to like The Prestige and Sherlock Holmes -- both of which I couldn't force myself to complete.

Re: Movies you HATE (even irrationally)

I kind of "hate" The Departed, relatively speaking. I mean as much as you can hate a Scorsese film. I think it's just really cheesy. LOL @ Marty's first Oscar for directing coming for that film. It's a decent film but people think it's incredible.

Though I don't come close to hating TDK, I kind of hate Ledger's Joker. It's really hammy and just kind of terrible. Not at all a popular opinion to have but I generally love Ledger performances, TTIHAU, Brokeback, etc. His Joker was...just...no.

Re: Movies you HATE (even irrationally)

After forcing myself through at least one full viewing, I despise:

Elizabethtown

MI2

I am on my way to despising MI3. Neither are THAT bad, and MI3 is much better. The closest I can come to a rationalization is that none of them come anywhere close to the original.

So what films provoke the euphemistic justified disinterest of which you speak?
First: A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Second: It's a Wonderful Life - I hate that movie.

Now, if Jimmy Stewart would have had anal sex with Donna Reed underneath the Christmas Tree - that would at least be one scene worth watching.

I wouldn't say it makes me want to gouge my eyes out, but ****, does every ****ing movie with Morgan Freidman have to have a VO? When I saw it for the second time, I imagined it without the V.O., and figured it would have been a pretty good movie. Yeah, not worth the hype.

Oh, you sniped me! Wait wrong thread.

The Abyss -- What a boring, slow, awful piece of trash movie.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail -- Not funny, over-quoted, way too long.

A Clockwork Orange.

I tried 3 times to get through this movie. Not sure why it's always on someones top 100 list.
