I haven't seen the new one and I love Depp, but this is very hard to believe since Wilder absolutely nailed that role.

Depp did a good job of being a different Wonka from Wilder while still being a worthy Wonka, but Wilder's Wonka is better

Depp's Wonka is more in your face crazy while Wilder's is more subtle

I saw it the first time.

I admit to being surprised at the Lounge denizens for not picking up on it.

What is this--NVG?

Hurt Locker was probably the most boring movie ever made.

Well I can't even watch Hurt Locker due to the SHAKYCAM! I refuse to watch movies that employ this terrible "cinematography". Just stop already - it doesn't help. Shakycam can die in so many fires and smd.

Fun sentence to read out loud.

I'll have to check out the new one... just to see. I keep forgetting to watch it.

Any movie starring either Drew Barrymore or Keanu Reaves(yes, that includes the matrix). I'm not if they've done a movie together but I'm sure if they did it would top my worst ever list, stealing top spot from Tom Green with his masterpiece "Freddy Got Fingered."

Rolling the dice here to see if anyone is with me on these.

JFK
A Beautiful Mind
Magnolia
Traffic

Crash as well but I already know that a lot of 2+2 is properly evaluating that garbage.

JFK? Really? The others I can understand, but I thought JFK was pretty damn good in almost every way.

Second this, but mostly since it was such a huge dissapointment. One year after the amazing "Man On Fire", he goes a head and do something like this.

Re: Movies you HATE (even irrationally)

Wil, I remember seeing jfk in the theater as a college student and being blown away by how colossaly stupid it was. Really bugged me in many different ways. Had been quite looking forward to it.

Saw different parts of it again several years later giving it another try. Figured I was probably too cynical in college or not giving it a fair shake for whatever reason. But upon seeing it again I concluded I was actually right the first time around and that it still sucked. I truly expected to like it better on further viewings but it is all kinds of terrible.

"Back and to the left!"
