1. The simple fact that Netflix has it at all is remarkable and good, so they could list it under Children's Holiday Stories and I would be OK with it.

2. The fact that a post of mine in any way provoked a "WTF" from John Cole means that my work here is done.

Very powerful film, it is good, but it is heavy.

Also, I don't like the political agenda behind it, but then I am a whiny left liberal douche.

If any of TLDR's cinemaphiles want to take a shot at Oscar predictions, I'm running a prediction/sheep game over in POG.

Don't know if I posted about it but I watched The Master awhile back and it was really, really good. One of the best of 2012.

Watched recently Now is good which is a really effective tearjerker with Dakota Fanning and Paddy Considine.

Just in case any of you are dying to see Michael Snow's La Region Centrale, it's available in its entirety on Youtube.

Is this the one about the camera on the mountain that someone inadvertently left on?

I just remember someone's great comment about the DVD extras for that in one of our drafts....something about "BUG BUG BUG!" Had me rolling.

It's a bit heavy handed, but I mean it happens right?

Just finished an Oscar screener of The Master. I am a massive PTA fanboy and don't know how I feel about yet without a second viewing. That said the cinematography was phenomenal. I guess he used someone else for the first time in his career due to a scheduling conflict.

Isn't it always amazing? I mean, good lord, look at Magnolia and Boogie Nights and There Will Be Blood. Surely this qualifies as amazing cinematography, no?

Hell, I took it in the first round of the '70s draft and sniped Clovis who thought it would fall to the last round. Perhaps the worst first round pick after Eddie Izzard.

Kudzu imagined a DVD commentary with someone saying, "A rock. A bush. BUGBUGBUG!"

Warm Bodies was super terrible and cheesy imo.

How did it get such high reviews on Rotten Tomatoes?

The Criterion Collection is streaming for free on hulu for another couple of days. So much good stuff that I don't know where to start.

Primer - 2 tech guys accidently make a time machine while trying to invent something else and then the pros and cons of using that machine. It is low budget but I thought it was pretty damn good, it got a little complicated/confusing towards the end but I think repeated viewings would help that out.

Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2 - Not being a fan of Uma Thurman had put these way down on my QT list but watching them again, she didn't bother me at all and the movies are fantastic and very, very enjoyable. I have watched them multiple times the past week and they are great.

since it's really one movie, I am waiting for the directors cut where it's all non stop kill bill for five hours.

Untouchable - French drama/comedy based on the true story of a wealthy quadriplegic who hires a streetwise ex-con as his helper.
Heart-warming and genuinely very funny in parts, I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.

saw Insidious recently, probably my favourite horror flick since The Ring. The end is a little exaggerated for my taste but it is a horror movie after all. Overall I enjoyed it, worth a watch imo - 8/10

I felt the first half was great, second half passable. Whilst they didn't open the metaphorical door to the bogeyman, it worked well, but it didn't maintain the same quality once the door was open.

Confirmed. I was thoroughly interested in this movie until the whole "he's a traveler" thing started. The lady in the pictures with the dad literally gave me the chills though.

Unrelated note: is Sinister worth watching?
