Paris, Texas

It wasn't action packed by any means, but I found myself glued to the screen. Great cinematography, acting, and story. Recommended.

Strong reviews coming in for Before Midnight. Wish they'd post an official release date.

Cannot wait for this. The scripts must read like:

[Sitting at a table]

30 minutes later...

[End scene]

Release date and the monumental effort I am going to have to make avoiding info on this film until I see it given its my favourite film series of all time.

I just didn't get it at all.

Grade: am I an alien?
Completely agree. Found myself becoming increasingly irritated throughout, with the phrase "jesus, what a steaming pile of horse****", running through my head every 5 mins.

Oh wow has it been 9 years since before sunset already? I can actually watch a real movie with a girl and she won't ask me "What the **** are you watching?"

I've seen it. I couldn't believe Jesse had to sacrifice himself to destroy the alien horde.

Obviously kidding but in some was this would be so epic.

Just watched True Romance for the first time yesterday. I thought it was really good until the final shoot out scene. It felt like it was a spoof. Still give it a 8/10

Must be white boy day.

Dredd 7.5/10

Never seen the 90s version but found this very entertaining and plenty of cool shots. Am disappointed not to have seen it on big screen and 3D.

The Imposter 5/10

This was highly recommended to me plus it seems to have got universal acclaim but really didn't find it that interesting overall.

It felt similar to Compliance in terms of the bizarre situation.

Spoiler:

There seemed to be jumps in storyline and the 'twist' wasn't really revealed or explained (or maybe no twist at all). Not enough focus on the family members involved and what motive they may have to be part of something quite sinister.

I'm not sure if I completely missed the point but considering the the high ratings it received, I was very disappointed.

Ted 7/10

Good fun.

Right now, our very own Film Dude, Pryor, is at Sundance watching the premier of Before Midnight. I'm incredibly jealous! I couldn't help searching for some early reviews while holding my breath, because I don't think I could take it if the movie was a let down. Jesse and Celine are a part of my history as much as they are a part of their own.

Happily, I can report that the early word is nearly rapturous in praise. Whew. Just knowing I'm going to see another "Before" movie has me giddy.

Great to hear.

All the talk earlier today got me to pop in my DVD and watch the original tonight. I gotta say, I like this Viennese variation of bum.

SO glad to hear its getting good reviews. Please everyone avoid spoilers if possible. I haven't looked more forward to a film since Before Sunset. I feel like I haven't seen great friends in 9 years.

As long as Hawke and Deply have that amazing on-screen chemistry it will be hard for Linklater to miss.

There is a lot of estrogen flowing itt thread right now, what with the Sunset Sunrise Midnight whatever climaxing going on.

Spoiler:
Blah blah blah clever blah blah blah subtle blah blah blah long take blah blah blah human connection blah blah blah you all must be ovulating.

P.S. I really enjoyed Slacker.

Slacker is still my favorite Linklater. He's kind of like Jim Jarmusch and Wes Anderson for me. I'll watch anything and everything they do, find most of it fantastic, but for whatever reason, I still think Stranger Than Paradise and Bottle Rocket are their best films.
