AJ, you're going to the midnight showing? I'm still young and can't make it through those things.
Last time I went to one was Pirates of the Caribbean part 2. I feel asleep pretty early into it and hated myself for missing the sequel to a great film. Imagine my surprise when I later watched it at home and found out that the movie was probably the reason I went to sleep. Terrible. Just terrible.

I did it for TDK and The Hunger Games. I made it through both quite easily once the movie started. I even had to work the day after The Hunger Games and shockingly I didn't feel awful at all. I saw one of my students in the theater that night and she skipped school the next day. What a wimp.
The Name Of The Rose. great film with great cast. takes place in an abbey in a remote mountainous location. there are a series of mysterious deaths that have taken place and a monk played by sean connery investigates. accompanied by his apprentice played by a young christian slater.
film has a nice/creepy atmosphere with some freak/dark characters roaming around the abbey. also features f****rray abraham (amadeus) and a ron perlman who has been made even uglier as a hunchback speaking in various tongues
Ted - Having grown up to Family Guy, I pretty much knew what to expect going in. As a matter of fact, I saw some jokes coming a mile away, and others I specifically remember being used almost exactly the same as they were on Family Guy. So this could be the most predictable movie I've ever seen.
But I still loved it. A LOT. This is another one of those movies where you need to just STFU, turn off your brain, and lighten up. Do that and you're pretty much guaranteed plenty of laughs. And even if you don't laugh, you might still be moved by some of the more heartwarming moments this film has. It's actually a real charmer.
What struck me personally was the three-way chemistry between Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, and Seth MacFarlane. Even with an animated bear, the chemistry felt pretty real between this trio. They brought out the best in each other and you got some pretty good performances as a result (I actually saw Boogie Nights not too long ago, and compare that to this film, Wahlberg has come a pretty long way as an actor).
So while this movie might be best for the Family Guy crowd, it's still worth a watch if you're looking for some laughs. It's also under 2 hours, which in this age of marathon-long films is a MAJOR plus. 7 out of 10.
