The Amazing Spider-Man is a solid reboot. Garfield is a much better Peter Parker, hell the entire cast > Raimi's cast. Not taking away from Raimi, I've been a fan since Evil Dead 2.

I can see how some will be distracted/annoyed by the near cookie-cutter elements from Raimi's first Spider-Man film and this one. I was a little annoyed at first, but once I saw how Garfield made it his own and this was a far better Spider-Man i settled in and had a good time.

I watched an excellent documentary about the former CIA head William Colby on the Netflix. Made by his son. Really fascinating and a little touching at the end. The Man Nobody Knew

Watched Beginners last night. Enjoyed it a lot. Melanie Laurent is just lovely and Plummer steals the show as 78year old gay man.

7/10 - a bitter-sweat film

it's in my "to watch pile", probably about 200 films deep by now

Margaret (2011) is next, been looking forward to this as the only other film from the director "You can count on me" is one of my favorite films
