since we already have a wonderful lively movie seen thread going, I think we should have a movie trailer and movie rumor thread also... separate so as to keep both threads clean of fodder of each other.

I'll be be the first:

It seems Zombies gotten so main stream, that Even Brad Pitt is getting in the action:

World War Z

It's pretty obvious that along with making a TV sitcom or TV dramatic appearance, that appearing in a Zombie movie has become the "New Normal"

great thread idea. Should be interesting to see what happens with World War Z considering the delays and reported fights between Brad Pitt and Marc Forster (Director). Damon Lindelof called in to re-write the ending too, could be a mess. I certainly hope it's great, lots are skeptical.

Been seeing lots of commercials for the Red Dawn remake. I find this blastphemus. The original was perfect and a pure guilty pleasure. I hate remakes of stuff that is in no need whatsoever to be remade.

World War Z wasn't a bad read but supposedly it's so awful they had to reshoot basically all of it and rewrite the third part. That's a really bad sign, though that's better than rushing out what you know is crappy I suppose. Not getting too excited.

Superman I don't know. That's a pretty weak empty teaser and the comic con people got to see a full length one months ago. All I know is the cast and that Superman doesn't wear underwear on the outside anymore.

Robocop I'll catch on HBO or something. Might be okay, and the first one was cool. Of course I was a kid then. Not sure why they're rebooting this as opposed to just making more crappy sequels and TV shows.

Red Dawn I don't get remaking either. We going to remake Explorers next?

GI Joe, don't really care. The Rock can help but meh.

I heard Marky Mark's going to be in Transformers 4. Yeah that's great

Iron Man, obv seeing that

Star Trek 2 also, last one was good

Not a LOTR fan but I imagine the Hobbit is a must-see for anyone who is

Evil Dead - A remake, and without Ash. Lol. Just... lol

Man with the Iron Fists looks awful

Django unchained - Tarantino so a must-see, but doesn't blow my mind. His trailers are deceiving though

Flight - Looks like another pretty good but not amazing Denzel movie

Lincoln - sure why not

Les Miserables - Looking forward to this. Interesting cast choices.

A Good Day to Die Hard - Keeping makin' em I'll watch

After Earth - post-apocayptic movie with Will Smith? Alright, I gu... oh, directed by M. Night Shyamalan and starring Will Smith's kid who has first billing. I'll see it anyway I'm sure and fall asleep halfway through

White House Down - White House invasion movie with Jamie Foxx playing POTUS. The Mrs will want to see it because Channing Tatum's in it so pretty much there goes $35 in tickets and popcorn

Lionsgate talking about rebooting Twilight. Die.

Flight was basically a $100 million Lifetime movie of the week. Denzel struggling with a drinking problem. Snore. Cool plane crash, though.

lol... that's why I am avoiding it.

Come on... Superman, Zack Snyder, Kevin Costner and an Australian cattle dog... WIN!

the movie will at the very least be eye candy... and hopefully eye candy for the soul.

The WWZ trailer doesn't look awful except that it is reminiscent of War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise. I thought the book was pretty bad and I am a zombie fan.

I think this thread is suffering from a form of Cinematic Pointy Elbows Syndrome, because...

That WWZ trailer just made me turgid.

The Hobbit ldo

And I think there's a decent chance Les Miserables may be one of the greatest movie musicals ever (After Singin in the Rain and Oliver!, obviously)

Silver Linings Playbook Won't Go Wide on Thanksgiving

With "Silver Linings Playbook" shaping up as a slow-burn title more than a wide release, the Weinstein Co. is altering its plans to open the movie big on Thanksgiving weekend.

The company's chief operating officer, David Glasser, said on Wednesday that the David O. Russell dramedy would roll out Nov. 21 to about 400 theaters, a reversal of an earlier decision to open on approximately 2,000 screens. The movie could potentially expand to 800 screens the following week and begin approaching wide-release numbers in its third or fourth week of release, Glasser said.

"We felt we had the reviews and the long runway after the movie opened to let the word of mouth build," Glasser told The Times. "This is right out of our playbook." A plan for a small release in a handful of markets this weekend, including Los Angeles, remained on track.

With the movie garnering strong buzz out of its Toronto International Film Festival premiere in September, the Weinstein Co. set about enacting a wide-release plan for Nov. 21. Ads on broad network shows such as "Dancing With the Stars" and national football telecasts were bought, while multiplexes around the country were booked for Thanksgiving weekend.

But strong early reviews in a number of markets -- as well as, not insignificantly, pre-release surveys that suggested a modest amount of awareness -- has motivated the switch. The move now opens up a fairly large number of slots at theaters on a key moviegoing weekend.

The shift brings the Weinstein Co.'s plan into alignment with industry observers, who have said privately that they believed a slower rollout made more sense for the film.

With the new plan, Weinstein Co. is hoping to follow in the footsteps of numerous prestige titles that crossed over to commercial success, including "The Descendants" and Weinstein Co.'s own "The King’s Speech," which passed the $100-million mark as it took the best picture Oscar in 2011. Both films rolled out slowly over the holiday season, holding fire until reviews and word of mouth were in full effect.

Glasser said the company is still satisfied with awareness on “Silver Linings” but acknowledged the company would benefit from the added time. The media campaign would remain intact, he said.

Starring Bradley Cooper as a man with a bipolar disorder who strikes up a complicated relationship with a quirky woman (Jennifer Lawrence), "Silver Linings Playbook" is a rare hybrid this season. Its moments of antic comedy, as well as subplots about football and ballroom dancing, give it a crowd-pleasing element many awards films lack.

Still, the movie is capable of succeeding in multiple realms: Even as test and festival audiences have embraced it, awards pundits have listed it as a front-runner for best picture.
Sucks to be you guys!

The fiancee and I went to see a movie on Friday and out of all the trailers, there was only one we disagreed on about seeing. The one was Django Unchained with her wanting to see it and me not. The low point for me was when I saw Jonah Hill onscreen. I was like WTH? DU seems to want to be the kitchen sink of movies.

Didn't the movie Killing them softly with Brad Pitt come out months ago? I thought someone on 2+2 has seen it, now I'm seeing previews for it.

The release date was supposed to be a couple of months ago, but was pushed back in the US so if the 2plus2er was in a foreign country (like the UK) it is possible they've already seen it.
