I really enjoyed it.

Nowhere close to the original trilogy.

It has a better story than Legacy (chems?! WTF?!), but it's not as well executed.

Still quite enjoyable.

Skip Legacy, go straight to JB and you'll be fine.

I actually like the one with Jeremy Renner

So, if they make 4 or 5 movies in a series, but you only like the first 3, you decide to call them a Trilogy?

the 4th is legacy and its really good, no idea why it didn't get the love it deserved but i highly recommend it.
the 5th one, Jason Bourne, was one of the worst movies ever.
it will make your eyes and brain bleed.

that's cuz ur a gentleman and a scholar with outstanding taste.

im praying they bring back the Gilroy bros n make up for the abomination that was Jason Bourne.
i would love another renner installment and honestly i would love a prequel featuring oscar issac's character as long as its written n directed by the gilroy's.

i really love oscar hes a great actor and there is so much interesting material they could cover in the universe.

Thanks, all. I shall skip JB.

RBK I've seen Legacy and liked it, just not on par with the others imo.

That would indeed rule. Oscar's the man.

Get Out was fantastic. I went into the movie expecting completely the wrong things and was pleasantly surprised. I wish I had seen it in theaters, it was quite the experience. Perfectly built up, great acting, amazing cinematography... just amazing all around.

ya for sure the original 3 are in a class of their own. i just think legacy was really good and got a lot of undeserved hate probably due to a mixture of ppl being pissed damon wasn't the star n comparing it to the unbelievable epicness of the 3rd one.

i did think legacy dragged a tiny bit from when they escaped the doc's house till he got viraled off, but overall it still kicked ass, and I can't think of a better action movie made at the same time or since then.

i might be forgetting something but can't think of an action movie since legacy that i liked more.

i also thought the score and sound effects (or whatever you call the non musical score) were phenomenal.

outstanding film and im not a fan of the horror genre at all.

RBK,

As you know from our many conversations, I love Legacy. It's objectively better than JB. But come on man, chems? There's no defense for that as a plot point.

And I don't just mean in the context of that single movie. It retroactively makes the GOAT trilogy worse.

Hands on the Hardbody

Eat something heavy: It's gonna take you down...

It's like a movie I saw: Highlander.

She started laughing. She said: Holy Ghost!

Norma may surprise me: She's a little bit spiritual.

Thirty-seven hours: Have you always smoked non-filters?

Our judges are: Strictly volunteers.

I'd compare it to: Killing a deer.

Our god is an awesome god: Dance 'til it comes.

I have no idea if this documentary is known outside of Texas, but at one time it had a cult following here, especially among poker players. I can remember guys in their 50s and 60s, who probably had never owned a social security number, sitting around the table and talking about the reads they had picked up watching it. If you have a chance to, check it out.

When i was living in china i was recommended that by a friend. Thought it was a boring premise to make a documentary but wow is it good and had so much unintentional comedy. Afterwards i fell into a wikipedia black hole learning about the contests, the death(s?), and their being outlawed.

Rbk you are right the music and sound was perfect in Get Out too. I also am not at all a fan of the genre making this even more of a pleasant surprise.

Watching 2001 IMAX. Recommend.

My tickets are for tomorrow night.
Looking forward to the re master and sound upgrade.

One of my film buddies wrote:

Just got back from the White Marsh, MD IMAX, wow! Last time I saw 2001 in the theatre was at the AFI in Silver Spring, and this just crushed that viewing. Absolute perfection to me, my jaw is still dragging the floor. With AMC A-List, I’ll catch it 3 more times until it leaves after Wednesday. The UHD should be spectacular!

Speaking of Get Out, I feel like Lakeith Stanfield is on the verge of completely exploding. I've absolutely loved him in everything he's been in recently. Get Out, Atlanta, Sorry to Bother You...he's so much fun to watch. I was in a scene with him (as an extra) in Come Sunday, but the scene was cut and I haven't watched the film yet.

Brief post above during full on lights-on 10 minute intermission at my show. Funny that 2001 is no longer than many action movies these days.

I had bailed on 70mm show last month because of ~200 mile drive and screen didn’t look very big anyway. So was glad to see the IMAX remaster came locally instead.

Have seen countless times on various formats but only 2x in rep theaters on smallish screens, so I all I can say is go while you have the opportunity! Bigger the screen the better.

(Sense of vertigo during space wheel scene and EVA scenes is greatly amplified, but even scenes like Daisy or Louis XIV room have ridiculous immediacy.)

For wonks, the color grading seems pretty accurate and there is still directional dialogue.

Hope everybody catches this and enjoys as much as I did.

Watched Three Billboards again....it is really watchable.

And that letter the Sheriff writes to his wife is about as perfect a letter that has ever been written in a movie. I hope one day I can write a letter to my wife like that. I mean, without shooting myself in the head, of course.

Let The Right One In - Nearly perfect. I tend to like Scandi cinema, maybe I’m slightly biased....I just loved this movie though
