Re: Movie Cliches

Bad guy gives such a long speech to Hero that he recovers from the massive beating enough to make his escape. And every single time, there is a pipe available to swing on a kick someone in the face, followed by a round kick that stops 2 inches short of breaking a woman's nose.

Re: Movie Cliches

hero types 200 words per minute and a bunch of fake looking screens come up on the monitor and hero saves the day

or diffusing the bomb with 2 seconds to go because 1 second is too unbelieveable

Girl is being forced to marry a rich guy she doesn't love.
Romantic but poor alternative presents itself.
Rich fiance conveniently has an absurd temper tantrum that tells everyone in the audience that he will be a wife beater and thus cheating on him is morally acceptable.

When this happened in titanic I laughed aloud.

The federal government runs into an umbreakable code, so they run out to their go-to guy: the best hacker in the world, who is a fat male living at home. Female agent picks up jar and sniffs it. "Ew. What is this?"

Re: Movie Cliches

Saw Terminator Salv tonite, it was full of them

1. Robots only make noise when u see them, literally a 50 foot tall robot snuck up on people to snatch them.

2. Bad guy turns Good guy turns bad guy turns good guy has to die at the end, because he was bad once, for redemption.

3. Hero injured in clearly mortal way, hangs on to live several hours to find a hospital.

4. Skynet finally gets John Connor, sends a Terminator who forgot to bring a gun.

5. I blew that bad guy up, no need to doublecheck, bad guy promptly starts shooting again.

6. Mean heartless boss gets killed by villain.

And many more, if the stupid film wasnt filled with cliches I could have given it a B. I liked the overall plot idea, I just hated all the stupid cliches. And seriously no one died who we were even remotely attached too. The Terminators never hit anything smaller than a car the whole movie.
