Hard to think of the Revenge of the Nerds guy as 60 years old. Hope he's okay.

Erroneous! Keith had better taste in choosing projects, no doubt. Attaching yourself to Altman can't ever be wrong, and I adored him in Fargo, The Duelists, and many other things. But David sang as Woody Guthrie in Bound for Glory just as credibly, was a legit martial arts master, and pulled more elite pussy than just about anyone besides Nicholson, Beatty, and hmm, Peter Bogdanovich (?) from that generation of film icons.

Plus anytime you're 72 years old in a Thailand hotel room and think "Hmm, I wonder if I took this fabric cord off the bed skirt and tied one end around my neck wrapped it around the closet door knob and then tied the other end around my ball sac, maybe I could bust some kind of epic kung fu nut?" That's talent, my friend.

Gregory Walcott, 87, star of Plan 9 from Outer Space. Baby boomers remember this first at the theater and then a regular of bad TV.

Hot Rod Hundley at 80, was an LA Laker and then a college and pro announcer for decades, cool old dude. Always joking around. I think he played with Jerry West at West Virginia before the Lakers.

Gary Dahl dies; age 78.

http://www.nbcnews.com/business/cons...l-dies-n333931

From above link:

The man who put plain rocks in a box and sold them for $3.95 as "pets," igniting a 1970's fad, has passed.

Gary Ross Dahl, the creator of the wildly popular 1970s fad the Pet Rock, died at age 78 in southern Oregon.

Dahl's wife, Marguerite Dahl, confirmed Tuesday that her husband of 40 years died March 23 of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

The smooth stones came packed in a cardboard box containing a tongue-in-cheek instruction pamphlet for "care and feeding." Dahl estimated he had sold 1.5 million by the time the fad fizzled. Befitting the self-absorbed era that bore it, the Pet Rock required no work and no time commitment.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

A friend of mine, that I still see and keep in contact with, purchased one of those Pet Rocks. I abstained; as I could serendipitously enjoy the one he bought. Humans are silly beings.

Never got to see Dukes of Hazzard, but assume he was good in that, too.

He was a cartoony villainous lawman, but he did it with style.

I've only noticed this thread now and had posted a thread announcing Lewis' death, actually. Very sad news, I grew up on lots of his films and he was always very reliable in everything he was in.
