same here, he made everything he was in a little better. I first noticed him back in the early 70s starring in the tv movie of the mafia book Honor Thy Father.

Speaking of legendary college coaches, Frank Broyles just died. Arkansas coach and AD, also a longtime ABC game analyst.

Blanche Blackwell, the inspiration for every one of Ian Fleming's Bond girls.

Jamaican muse and mistress of 007’s creator, Ian Fleming, dies at 104

Quote:
Mrs. Blackwell spent her final years in London, where she was interviewed in 2008 by writer Ian Thomson for his book about Jamaica, “The Dead Yard.” She spoke of her earlier admirers by their first names.

“Ian was an angel,” she recalled. “Errol was another angel. Both lovely men — both exceptionally manly and definitely not for domesticating!”

I suppose it's because of how I first heard of him, but my main association with Dick Gregory is him going around with very obese people and his weight loss thing.

Goodbye Jerry. Thanks for the laughs and all the good charity work you did.
Sad to see him go.

Maybe the last of an era. I especially liked The Nutty Professor. He was a really talented guy.

That, where he got to play a version of Dean Martin, and The King of Comedy in which he had the opportunity to play himself.

I was never much of a fan of his comedy, but I always watched his annual telethon for Muscular Dystrophy. I think it's a travesty how they treated him toward the end after all the work his did and the hundreds of millions of dollars he helped to raise.

zomg, Jerry Lewis died? Now there's your show business legend right there. I always liked those old Martin and Lewis movies, The Caddy for instance. Seemed like a real jerk in a lot of ways ofc.

For somebody who was supposed to be such a great comedian, I don't think I ever heard Dick Gregory say even one funny thing.

Yeah, for all the bad words about Jerry's Kids, I truly believe he was running one of the few legit charities out there. I'd call it a conspiracy, but RIP to a good person.

Not to trash the dead but my ex-wife grew up down the street from Jerry Lewis. She had nothing positive to say about him. 'Violent psycho' as I recall.

this answer likely depends on how old she was at the time.
