I remember him first and foremost from Mission: Impossible in my youth.

Then of course the many movies and TV shows that followed. And who can forget as the judge in Rounders?

Just read that a 19 year old George Romero worked on North by Northwest, Landau's second movie.

Landau was apparently in a movie called "The Last Poker Game" which came out just this year. Curious how it was if anyone has seen it, and if it has any actual poker.

Martin Landau story.

On the red carpet for the first Mission Impossible movie, Kennedy ( at that time an MTV pundit ) speaking to Landau had no clue he had been in the MI television show. She pointed out that she recalled him from "Ed Wood ." Martin Landau started laying into her about not researching her assignments and what a dumb ***** she was.

And now we can see her every night on Fox News.

Also speaking of Barbara Bain, she was his wife for like 30 years. Certainly when they were together on MI the TV show.

wow, just heard about Hurt awhile ago. I always liked John Heard. Cutter and Bone a forgotten classic, with Jeff Bridges!

edit: sometimes called Cutter's Way, I think

Kinda weird that John Hurt and John Heard died in the same year. I remember many years ago I used to get the names mixed up.

Heard was fantastic as the rogue cop on the Sopranos. Every time I re-watch I can't help but think what a mistake it was killing him off so early in the series. He nailed that ****
