Re: Get out of jail performances by actors

and I think we are getting carried away giving cage too many passes, imo he hasn't earned one. So he has a couple movies where he didn't completely suck, any half way decent actor would have those movies with out the rest of his ridiculously horrid body of crap.

He was so great in Brokeback Mountain. Too bad there are no Get Out of Coffin Free performances.

Thread restored. Well done.

What's funny about that film is that I get the sense that everyone else in the film might have done a brilliant job as well, but I wouldn't know it because I was so shocked at Ledger.

What a great, GREAT film.

Funny I'd say his performance in Ten Things I Hate About You, as well as everything else he's ever done, is enough to excuse his hammy terrible Joker.

For Nic Cage I'd say his H.I. McDonough. Such a great character.

I like him in the National Treasure films but it's light lifting so I wouldn't really count that. H.I. McDonough - he was actually playing a character.

Re: Get out of jail performances by actors

John Travolta in Pulp Fiction.

He has got to be one of the worst actors of all time. He is just so laughably bad in nearly everything he is in and probably would've been a B-lister or worse had it not been for disco.

Also, on the Heath Ledger topic, check him out in Lords of Dogtown. He does such a good job in that movie that I barely even recognized him at first when I saw this movie.
