Yeah, totally agree. Will Smith running through the streets of Africa with them all chanting "Ali, Boma Ye" for 5 minutes straight was a total wtf moment. That's how they set up the fight with George Foreman? For such a controversial, charismatic, and downright bad-ass figure, this movie was so tame and mellow and disappointing.

I never even watched Ali. I find WIll Smith highly annoying. When I saw he was playing Ali I thought "hey wait, Ali was a larger than life, egocentric blabbermouth", then my next thought was "Will Smith is too 'look-at-me' to play Ali."

I think if you want to guarantee an Oscar sweep you make a movie in black and white with subtitles about a ******ed former slave who becomes a boxer and takes his money to save the environment. Meryl Streep can play... I don't know, the spitbucket lady. Get her in there somewhere. Maybe Cate Blanchett.

2013 - Great book, big stars, crappy movie

The Great Gatsby (2028) will probably suck too! This story somehow doesn't translate well to film.

Valid points.. Being as it basically rips off the concept of limitless and goes down a different path.. The different path could of been better executed and raised as few interesting points and concepts. Clearly had the budget for some good special effects, but didn't make up for the holes in the story line etc...

I really enjoyed Lucy. But I'm a fan of Besson's work and, whilst it may not have been his best, he certainly delivered a decent movie here.

House of Flying Daggers is a good call - lots of hype, much critical praise, but just very boring for large parts of the movie and waaaay too long at nearly 2 hours. How it still scores 88% on Rotten Tomatoes is beyond me.
