Favourite Stand Up

I'm a big fan of Stand Up with roughly 60 albums/live recordings in my collection. I'm looking to add to it (+200 ) and would love to hear thoughts on your favourite stand up.

I have an eclectic mix from George Carlin, Richard Pryor to Dave Chapelle, Eddie Izzard, Louis C.K.

If you can specify, makes it easier to look for.
Something like Richard Pryor - Live on the Sunset Strip

*I know the was some kind of draft thread a while back. Not what I'm looking for.

Re: Favourite Stand Up

Rowan Atkinson. His best is obv his silent comedy films but he has some decent standup too.

Some of his standup sucks though.

Re: Favourite Stand Up

Greg Giraldo was my favorite comedian, I don't remember any specific standups though. I did like John Mulaney's - New In Town when it was on Comedy Central.

Re: Favourite Stand Up

Much like Norm, stand-up wasn't Giraldo's best form, though it is still awesome. His best form was obviously roasts. Norm's best form is basically any interview. There are dozens of Norm interviews on YT and all are hysterical.

peak Giraldo:

Ron James: Canadian and very funny.
I am sure there is some clips on Youtube but if you go to CBC website he has a variety show on there too you can tune into.

Re: Favourite Stand Up

I love stand up. Atm Im listening/watching all my collection while grinding.

Bill Hicks, Louis C.K. prob the best imo.

Jimmy Carr also a genius because he actively interacts with his audience and encourages hecklers. A genius when it comes to thinking on his feet:

Pablo Fransisco is pretty hilarious. He does amazing voices including an unbelievable "movie guy" bit. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't seen him.

And Mitch Hedberg was obviously a comedic genius as well.

Re: Favourite Stand Up

Don't have the Steven Wright, it's on my shopping list.
So is Jon Mulaney, Ron James and Bill Hicks (hadn't heard of them)
I have everything by Louis C.K. from 05 to date. Chewed Up being my favourite.
I've got four Jimmy Carr's, haven't been able to get my hands on material from before 08.
Hedberg was master (even with the stage fright), sad we won't ever have new material from him.

Feel absolutely nothing for Pablo Fransisco!! Ouch is one of the worst stand-up dvd's I have. I'd have Gabriel Iglesias over Pablo any day. Plus I think Gabriel's impersonations are better (you should hear his P. Rodriguez, G. Lopez, Mencia bit), and he does improv.
