Probably a super stupid thought (taking away freedom usually sucks) and I just thought about it but seriously why are people allowed to publicly abuse their person without recourse? As goose said, it's a gigantic (no pun intended) net negative. Especially if they have small children and are either a) going to die while their kids are still dependent or b) going to pass on these terrible body-abusing eating habits to ignorant kids
Suicide isn't illegal in most states anymore. It used to be a felony to attempt suicide. Slow suicide by cheesecake shouldn't be treated any differently than a jumper in intention, but there isn't the sense of urgency with the cheesecake and a 72 hour psych hold, for example, probably isn't appropriate with the cheesecake eater while it is with the jumper.
