K and I are now down a combined 75 lbs since the start of the year (me 40, her 35), and adding barbell lifting to our routines has seemed to accelerate the rate at which we're taking off inches even at similar rates of weight loss as prior to lifting.

Oh that's terrific!

I think I may restart weights early next year. Sticking to cardio this year.

Me? I'm 5'10 180.

Just got a little belly I need to get rid of. If I actually exercised some and stopped eating like crap, I assume it will go away.

I just hit 250, mostly by using the advice and guidelines in The Diet Fix book posted by Busto.

Feeling pretty damn good.

And kinda...

just hit 240.

I forgot to mention, I started weights again about a month ago, as my middle son had to get some better shoulder strength to keep playing rugby - so I decided to coach him and train with him.

I'm gonna so hot in about 6 months, I'll have to stop posting pics all together.

You have inspired me. I am going to get my fat ass off the couch and get back into shape. I mean, I'm in shape now, sorta...round is a shape, right?

I guess here's my update, although it's a little out of date now.

I have just about got back down to 240 after putting on a lot over Christmas, but I have a kind of update.

I got tired of wearing baggy jeans, and finally decided to buy some jeans smaller than the ones I was wearing when I started this (I don't buy jeans often).

The ones I have been wearing have a 40" waist.

Wasn't sure what to get, and was in a rush, so I thought I'd chance a 36" waist, on the grounds if they were tight, I'd have an incentive to keep losing weight, to fit in them.

Turns out, 36" are still big on me, and I'll probably go to a 34"

diebitter,

I'm sure this is answered already, but how tall are you?

240lb, 34" waist and overweight seems a little hard to figure. Is it a bit of a gut that hangs over your beltline?

I'm 6'3" 190 with a 36" waist and a few pounds of flab on my belly.

6'3"

I have quite wide shoulders.

And yes, I was amazed 36" feels loose on me.

I guess phenomenally broad shoulders are unsurprising given your grotesque handsomeness.
