Indian food is fine unless you live in an apartment and someone within 2 buildings of you is cooking it. Then it's just an olfactory nuisance.

Diet is the absolutely most important thing for a fat person wanting to lose weight. You don't exercise yourself skinny. There's no amount of exercise you can't eat you way through.

Burning 600 calories on a treadmill takes 2 hours, you can woof down a 600 calorie Whopper from Burger King in a minute or two.

Obviously exercise is also critically important to your health, in fact it's the single most important thing you can do to make yourself healthy, but it shouldn't be viewed as your primary way of losing weight, adjusting your diet should be. Exercise will just make your body a hell of a lot stronger and function better in general.

Reduce your calories by a reasonable level, lose weight.

Every fat person on the planet knows those doughnuts and burgers they are stuffing in their face are high in calories and they have some serious mental gymnastics needed to absolve themselves of the guilt and responsibility. A large % of them are probably just flat out addicted to eating just like any other addiction.

There used to be a grip-ton of Indian food here in LA, then I think the health-food trend moved to something else, but I can't keep up or care.

They didn't serve anything but curry so I don't know what else is Indian Food. I always wondered what an Indian cooking show would be like:

Monday: Brown Curry
Tuesday: Green Curry
Wednesday: Red Curry
Thursday: Black Pepper Curry
Friday: Pineapple Curry Dessert

The chili I can take or leave. The Chicken Tikka Masala is essential to happiness and well-being.

Indeed. It is the food of the gods. As is the Sunday Roast, fish and chips, and trifle.

I'm not sure what trifle is but the other stuff on your list sounds yummy. Please tell me trifle isn't that stuff made out of cow brain.

I lived with a Korean economics student in college, and our kitchen always stuck of kimchi and weird spicy ****. I got used to it though, nice guy. He got a PhD in economics and went back to Korea.

This probably isn't even that bad. Making a salad really bad involves fried chicken and tortilla chips.

Whenever I head the song "Short people got no reason to live" I hear "Fat people got no reason to live". That's probably wrong but it's more fair than the former, at least. Short people did nothing wrong.

There's a subreddit and a whole culture online for mocking what has been dubbed "fat logic" and yes that would fit right in there.

The Urban Dictionary definition nails it -

The astounding mental gyrations obese people use to justify their size. Fatlogic never, ever includes eating too much and exercising too little.

Fatlogic insists that five triple cheeseburgers doused with mayonnaise are balanced by a diet soft drink.

"I'm not fat, I'm just big-boned."

"I have a condition, I gain weight for no reason at all." -- said when finishing the fourth bag of cookies before noon.

Kimchi tastes better than it smells, no doubt. So does sauerkraut (without vinegar) for that matter.

It's actually not bad rationale, though a little dependent on which fruits. People don't get fat by eating fruit, they get fat by eating processed foods and drinking soda/juice. Replace every processed food with a piece of fruit (and some other things) and every sweet beverage / beer with a glass of water, and for the most part people wouldn't be fat.

I feel like most thin / average (slightly overweight) people don't do anything differently than fat people, but are just lucky to be thin. Whoever eats processed junk (mostly everyone in america, often without even knowing it e.g. Cheerios) and drinks OJ, diet soda and beer, and isn't obese is just lucky and has no right to look down on obese people.

In the supermarket, at least 99% of the stuff is junk (though much of it is marketed as something healthy). And it's not only obese people buying it.

This... I lost a ton of weight this year and I eat as much meat, fruits and veggies as I want. If its natural, it's fair game.

Its everything else that makes people fat...especially grains.

4 pieces of toast is over 350 calories and will not fill you up. 350 calories of chicken will fill you up. 350 calories of veggies is virtually impossible to eat in one sitting and even 350 calories of apples would require eating 7 of them.
