For my third round pick, and as a nod to sports, which I love:
Spoiler:
Keith Max Jackson (born October 18, 1928) is a retired American sportscaster, known for his career with ABC Sports (1966–2006), his intelligent yet folksy coverage of college football (1952–2006), and his distinctive voice, with its deep cadence and operatic tone.
A Sportscaster can make the games they announce so much better, or so much worse. The one that tops them all for College Football (and other sports) always made the games you listened to so much better and more enjoyable. And his lack of saying stupid things and keeping it simple and timely added to his melting voice. The voice of College Football for so many years and I can’t think of big games without thinking about this man that gave so much so well: Keith Jackson. The dismal state of much broadcasting today just illustrates even more why the greats are so great. The Nat King Cole of sports casting, Keith Jackson, epitomizes this.
Fourth pick coming up in a few..........

Reason: Typo
Koko Taylor, A woman born to sing the blues, slides into the number four slot. She puts most other powerful, and rough and tumble voices to shame. AND she does soft, and lonesome with the stain of pain, as well as anyone [see last video]. Such versatility oozes greatness.
Picks so far:
Howlin' Wolf
Mae West
Keith Jackson
Koko Taylor

Reason: Wording
Sade has been the epitome of cool, smokey soul for decades...her voice has always been one of my favorites and its power has not diminished with age. I've seen her 3 times and she's always amazing.
Since it's the 4th of July, I am suspending mandatory picks every four hours today...if it's your turn, you can pick, of course...but I won't be skipping anyone until tomorrow morning.
Happy Independence Day while our President meets with the foreign leader who conspired to elect him!
I'm learning a lot in this draft. It would never have occurred to me to listen to a Karen Carpenter song, or to watch sports on TV with the sound on, but I'm being educated in some great voices.
This one goes into my most distinguished/distinctive voice category. Jones has an amazing speaking voice. A fine actor who has done lots of voice work like CNN taglines, audiobooks and most famously the voice of one of the greatest villians ever, Darth Vader.
So far: Frankie Valli
Karen Carpenter
Frank Gorshin
James Earl Jones
Allan Clarke/Graham Nash/Tony Hicks
aka the 3 part harmony of The Hollies
I LOVE harmonies. Voices blending as one. There are so many truly great ones how do you pick? Semi-randomly The 60's and 70's music I grew up with were filled with them, each seemingly better than the last. Those 60's pop and Motown groups were built on harmonies.
I choose the Hollies because I really like their sound and feel they were always severely under rated and deserving of some acclaim. These are 3 fine voices on their own but when they combine as one it is magic.
