Preferences differ. I realize it is very popular with a huge fanboy following. I just wanted to give the opposite view since it is the view I personally hold.

Like I said, I thought season one was brilliant and it prompted me to read the books because I enjoyed it so much. But ... but I think season 2 just doesn't translate well to TV because it has too many moving parts. This thing has a lot of simultaneous story lines which means some must be rushed, some forgotten or glossed over, some streamlined and many don't get the attention they really warrant. That's why the Blackwater episode was so good. Because it was focused and was given full attention for a full episode. Other than that though I have found every other episode this season to be disappointing. I can't imagine non-readers of the book enjoying this much at all.

Gotta agree with OP. Californication is imo the best show out there atm. Absolutely love David Duchovny's deadpan style. Used to totally adore Marcy but she's become a bit of biatch since she left Charlie. Still produces some amazing lines tho. Cannae stand Samurai mother****ing Apocalypse. Love RZA's music, but he is not an actor. On the other hand, glad y'all have such good taste in TV.

And re: Big Bang Theory. Hilarious but i cannot stand the canned laughter, and the more I try to ignore it, the more obvious it becomes.

Only read the last 100 posts or so. I haven't seen a single episode of most shows named, which saddens me, considering how much I pay for satellite and how many stations I get. Looks like I'll be giving my dvr a workout.

Big Bang Theory. I just don't get it. Everyone loves it, and I've tried watching it many times because I figure I must be catching bad episodes, but I just don't like the humor. I want to like it. I love sitcoms. It's just not funny to me. The personalities are grating, and the jokes don't do anything for me. I hated Phoebe on Friends for the same reason. Just a personality and humor I could not stand. And BBT is a show full of it.

Completely know what you mean. At times it feels like a bad sitcom. The jokes are sometimes corny and predictable. But for some reason I find it highly endearing. Maybe I sympathise with Sheldon too much...

I'm going to give justified a shot because it's mentioned so much here. I gave breaking bad a shot and went through 1 season and then never watched it again.

I watched the first few episodes of Justified but just never really got into it. Breaking Bad on the other hand I find to be great and can't imagine anyone giving up on it. But everyone has different tastes.

I suppose I should give Game of Thrones another shot, reluctantly.
