Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness (there's legit goat potential there)
the Antoine Doniel series (it tails off, but such a wonderful thing to behold)
the Up Series (start em, watch em)
Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead (if it gets better than this, it doesn't get *much* better)
Mad Max, The Road Warrior, Thunderdome (a lot of people like to piss on the third one...I think it's a super-cool world building mind****...and The Road Warrior is in my top 10 action films, never gonna leave)

+1 on the Antoine Doniel series being really good (specially 400 blows).
Two trilogies not mentioned yet that are awesome are: Orphic Trilogy by Jean Cocteau. Excellent trilogy. It has a Pablo Picasso cameo if I remember correctly. My favorite of the three is the last one but all three are awesome. Cocteau did some great films back in the day. Metaphysical Trilogy by Ingmar Bergman. Tough to beat Bergman when it comes to making films about people struggling with their identity and or their religion. The middle movie in the trilogy (Winter light) is one of my favorite movies.
There's also Riddick, but then it's just naming series', whether best or not. Which I guess is all that's happening anyway. - At least no one's said Blade yet.
Do a poll.
Don't put Might Ducks on it. Or Home Alone. Or Ninja ****ing Turtles. (Or Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles as they used to be called here, because calling them ninjas might have turned our innocent children in to Americans.)
Hang on .. What about Toy Story?! Gotta be up there.
