Not the Marvel comic. The old British TV show. Steed, Gambit (again, not the Marvel character), and Purdey. Today is its 40th anniversary.

I remember the old Avengers especially Emma Peel But that is older than 40 years ago.

I used to watch The New Avengers when I was a kid. Thought it was great. Had a poster of Joanna Lumley on my bedroom wall. This one:

VERY nice! Not that I could see it here. For some reason, it just appeared blank, so I had to manually copy and paste the URL from the quote box. I loved Purdey. Always wished it was my face on the receiving end of her kicks.

They were supposed to be campy English spies, I think. Like James Bond, but 2 of them. It never did much for me either.
