I read about this on Slate. The thing that keeps me from getting into it is that
Spoiler:
there's apparently no definitive resolution.
Nobody knows, including the people making it as they are still doing the reporting episode to episode. Part of what makes it so interesting is the ambiguity.
The ambiguity is what's boring me so far. There's not been a single thing that made me go "clearly he didn't do it!" or "clearly he did!" But maybe that's because I'm not so far in. Do they eventually identify an alternative suspect? Because that would make things considerably more exciting.
I've been sticking to it. Enjoyed the guy who found the body, he's a new colorful character, but then it got back to nitpicking about the timeline and I got bored again.

Not to be that guy but you are completely missing the point.

This is definitely true. I tend to listen to these things as I'm going to sleep and I just don't feel like using too much brainpower and I guess this is just not a podcast for doing that.
So I actually paid attention this time and clearly I was missing the point. So many inconsistencies. Definitely looking forward to the next episode now. This is just not a podcast to listen to while dozing off, it demands you pay attention because it is all about details.
Just dropping in to say thanks for posting this. Really enjoyable.
If you are like me and jonesing for the next episode, here is a reddit thread with links to This American Life podcasts with a similar theme. Should keep you going for a while.
As much as I want to believe he didn't do it, Im leaning towards yes, That he and Jay did it together. But I change my mind a lot, new podcast tomorrow!
That's been kind of my problem with the Podcast from the beginning. I keep waiting for some legit reason he's innocent and I just don't see it. They keep saying there's no motive, but why isn't jealousy a strong motive?
Yeah, Jay's story is sketchy and the prosecutor did a pretty poor job stating their case, which Adnan's lawyer really should have done more with, but everything else points to him.
Who else could have done it? The last episodes suggestion that there might be a random serial killer involved is so far fetched it makes you doubt the sanity of the person positing it.
Does not look good for Adnan but it does seem Jay's level of involvement should have deserved more than just probation, interesting format and am very much awaiting the next series.
Great thread. I think Adnan did kill her but a lot of Jay's details are pretty sketchy. I'm guessing he had more involvement that he confessed to. Is Adnan a psychopath or what?
