A guy I know has renewed his contract with his mobile/cell operator and has received a brand new Samsung Galaxy SIII with it. He however doesn't want the new phone and is quite happy with his iphone so has offered to sell me it at a discount from retail price.
Problem is I don't know the guy THAT well. He is nice enough etc but obviously I want to take precautions.
I have not had a smartphone until now but I have read that with iphones if they are reported stolen or lost then Apple can deactivate the phone thus rendering it useless. I'm guessing this is the same with Samsung too?
Is there any steps I can do or that I can get him to do to ensure that this won't happen further down the line?
ask to see the phone before paying for it, wait for him to hand it to you...wait 10 seconds pretending to look at it and then just sprint like ****ing **** and boom its free
Don't get too worked up about making a decision. Smart phones are just a fad and by they time you get the phone they will probably be a thing of the past. But I guess you could keep it for the novelty aspect of it.
