It doesn't get in the way of work but I know drinking 5+ nights a week isn't healthy....

The thing is I don't really want to stop, life is too fing hard and stressful for me right now not to want to wind down. I no longer smoke the green on a daily basis and the doc gave me xanex to help with my anxiety but seriously it's just one crutch or another. As someone who has a beyond addictive personality with everything ( cigs, booze, drugs, sex, gambling, food ) I feel it's just best for me to manage everything in moderation right now. I know it's not ideal health wise but for me to be successful in my professional and personal life atm I need the mentioned above pretty frequently.... I know I'm ranting and there's more to the story than in going into.

Tldr- life is hard. Treat yourself and enjoy whatever time you have in this life long or short.

For the record I've still been pretty good with cigs.. Other items not so much.
Your doctor is an irresponsible idiot. Is he taking new patients?

Doc actually made me do a drug test before prescribing xanex.. Came up for green but he was ok with that.

I've read a few articles recently about intense mushroom trips helping people quit...

I'm always down for deep psychedelic trip so I may give it a whirl.

I never thought I'd quit smoking, but I finally did, and haven't smoked in seven years. Its important to acknowledge the fact that you've kicked the habit. You've tried to quit smoking and you've done it. Congratulations! Next time you see the doctor, do a blood test and test for nicotine. If you've stopped as long as 72 hours, it will come up negative. So you are a non-smoker...as much as any other non-smoker.

Stop counting the days since you've quit. When you count days, it shows that you're still thinking of yourself as a smoker, but a smoker who's quit for a period of time. So you're leaving open a window to go back to it. The truth is, you're a non-smoker now. Accept it. Embrace it. And then forget it. Make it a dead issue.

Once the nicotine has left your body, the physical craving departs, leaving you with the psychological connection. That's actually the easier part to deal with. But to beat it, you must accept that you are a non-smoker. There's something that's kinda cool, romantic or bad-boy about being a smoker. Its hard to let that go. But forget it. You're saving a ton of money, and adding years to your life.

I used to eat over 1/4oz of shrooms in one sitting and 6-10 tabs in a night. I think I know my limits... Even tho any true pyschonuat knows your always taking a chance but set and setting are key.

I've never tripped with a goal or desired outcome so im interested to see if I can re wire my brain favorably.

Lmao ah man re wire your brain favorably with shrooms. Good luck with that one. Yea my buddy had a bad trip for sure but it was enough to change my ways. Is it really worth it? I say yea cuz it is one hell of a good time. I use to eat them like candy tens years ago.
Now days I'm all bout living a longer life yea feel me. By the way I have not smoked anything in a couple months and life is great. You don't relize what all the smoke in your lungs does to you until u quit for a while.

Yeah we'll see it's been about 4 years since my tripping days... Dunno even where to find the stuff now but I'm willing to give it a shot if the opportunity arises.

Life is funny sometimes...

Ended up at a coworkers house on Monday after work as we have been chatting it up recently about bud and he asked if I wanted to come by smoke, grill some food, and hang... Was an all around good time and he happened to bring up our little fungus friends and asked if I've ever tripped. After some conversation he shows me a closet where he has been growing some of the most powerful psychedelic shrooms.... Needless to say it sealed the deal on my hesitation regarding my attempt to trip to stop the cravings to smoke. He gave me about 1/4oz of fresh caps and I went on my way. I'm most likely waiting til the late summer/early fall when I have a few weeks off from work and normal life in case I get myself into a weird head space after.

In regards to smoking, It's been slowly creeping back into my life. Have had a few weekends in a row of heavy drinking/partying and the leftover packs seem to have found their way into my car....this fing habit it so hard to kick and this is coming from someone who had a nastyyy coke habit back in college.

Been years since I've tripped, but I used to smoke a pack or more during the more intense ones. The ash glow was comforting. Everyone's different, though, and psychedelics ≈ variance.

Yup been about 4 years or so for me. Just haven't had the opportunity plus life kinda got in the way. Def looking forward to it tho. Have a nice lake house in Maine for a week with a bunch of good friends later on this summer.

Been smoking over twenty years now. Up to about 36-40/day now. I try to quit all the time but it doesn't last long. After a bit, smoking a cigarette is all I can think about, and it drives me nuts. When i gauge how I'm thinking and feeling after a 2-6 hours of quitting and how freaking long it will take for this to stop when every minute feels like an hour I always end up thinking that there's absolutely no way I can take this for so long and end up smoking again.

40 a day?! Damnnnn

Only time I smoke more then a pack in a day is when I'm gambling or on a bender.. Normal days it's half a pack or so.

Get into vaping man. I'm down to 1-2 packs a week now after vaping and those 1-2 packs are when I'm drinking. I get an urge for a smoke a few times a day but vaping helps tremendously

I was considering vaping until I saw some reports that claim it's even worse for you than cigarettes. I'll keep it in mind though. I've tried just about everything else. I've even tried wearing four nicotine patches at once. Didn't even dent the withdrawals.

I've decided to once again try and stop smoking. Lately I've just physically felt like crap and having a cig just made it so much worse. I would say I've been at a pack a day again for awhile now. The good news is I have been gamble free for 2 months and my biggest leak in quitting has always been the casino.

Drinking, drugs, parties... I was always able to push away the temptation of a cig. The second I sit at a blackjack table or play cards it's game over. That's where I failed most in my last attempts to quit. So having that out of my life should make this attempt easier. If anyone cares about the trying to quit gambling im going to be updating those trials and tribulations as well. That has been one hell of a ride over the last 9 years as I am easily down 100k lifetime from gambling.

The last 2 months have been really promising. I've gotten a nice promotion at work and I am finally over 6 figures, I've been gamble free, eating better, and now it's time to finally quit.

Sept 29, 2015 Day 1- ( for the 6th time )

Thx for the crappy gambling advice and weak thread savers.

I stopped listening at "a player has 2% advantage in blackjack"
