So my dad randomly bought me a new laptop and im gonna go and pick it up from him this weekend. Problem is he wants the one im using now. I need to know the best way to delete any traces that ive been to porn sites and stuff. My dad is a ubber computer geek so i want to be thorough.

CCleaner should get rid of anything other than stuff you downloaded.

Stuff you downloaded you'll need to delete manually. Then run CCleaner again.

That should be adequate. Someone could still get the pron back if they used a recover program but Dad isn't going to do that. If you fear he is -- use something that writes over the deleted files.

If there is nothing on the machine you need just format and re-install Windows. That way 100% gone plus machine is in mint condition.

Lol porn fiends itt. I never d/l anything just go to like free websites. I have like naked pictures of lindsey lohan and stuff d/l but i dont care if my dad sees that. I just want to make sure theres no internet history after i clear history and cookies and everything. I dont really want my dad to know i watched a video called "cheerleader gets destroyed by monster black ****". I also want to make sure he cant pull up any post ive ever made on 2+2 or anything.

Ok so i think ill just reformat the hard drive. How long does this take? I have en external hd so i can put all the files and pt databases i want to keep on that. Will i still have like my norton subscription and stuff afterwards?

You'll have to reinstall Norton and everything else (including Windows, drivers, etc..).

Shouldn't take you more than 2-3 hours but most of it is passive / waiting time. You really don't need to get that complicated.If you just go to websites then all you need to do is download CCleaner http://www.download.com/CCleaner/300...dlPid=10837066. Install and run it and everything will be gone.
