the defection payout is supposed to be higher than the payout for mutual cooperation

if it was this, then basically i would be saying whoever PMs me first gets $1! because obv no one would say yes, since they are only getting 50 cents. we are all strangers and no one really cares if someone else doesnt get money.
it would be more interesting with higher amounts tho, lets say 100 if everyone says yes and 40 if someone says no.
i guess ppl assume someone else is gunna say no and want to be the first one so they are guaranteed money.
if this was in real life with close friends, then your idea makes sense.
